Having taken over the reigns of leadership barely a month ago, The Abbosey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association has re-constructed the entrance of the road leading to its business centre in Accra.

The road project, is close to the Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange under which is construction.

The choked drainage system in this section of the road has generated unbearable stench and slowed down vehicular movement of customers who visit the area to do business.

With the re-construction, the choked gutter has been fitted with a pipe to facilitate the free-flow of water into the main drain.

The Chairman of the Association, Mr Henry Okyere Junior, said a little over GH¢35,000.00 was spent on the project through the assistance of some companies and philanthropists.

He said though there were many challenges which needed to be tackled, the executive decided to carry out this one first and assured that the rest would be done in batches as and when funds were available.

He said his administration was prepared to change the, “face” of Abbosey Okai and give it a befitting look.

The Secretary of the association, Mrs Gifty Fenu, called on the government to speed up work on the interchange to pave way for the construction of ancillary roads in the area.

She said this would boost revenue generation and help in creating more jobs in the enclave.

An aspiring Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Jefferson Sackey, called on the people to exercise patience with the government in carrying out development projects since many projects needed attention.
