Speaking to The Spectator Agoro at the launch of this year’s event (the fifth edition) last Sunday, Ms Amoakowaa asked patrons to expect something different, adding that there had been some adjustments to what they did last year.

“Expect something different and fireworks in the eight weeks of fully-packed actions. Each week will be something different with well-researched topics,” she added.

She urged the contestants to give their best and think beyond the crown since Miss Golden Stool was providing them with a bigger platform.

“Most at times, people focus on winning the crown to the extent that if they don’t win, their world comes to a halt and they do not see themselves impacting society. This year we want to help the contestants look beyond that.” she disclosed.

“Last year we tried to add a bit of vocational training for the contestants. This year, there would be something to enable contestants to make an impact in society even if they do not win the contest,” she added,

All the contestants have expressed their readiness to make a huge statement on the big stage as the first episode would be shown at 8:30pm tomorrow on Adom TV.

Rocky Jigga believes that many talented musicians have coiled back into their shells due to funding challenges.

“There’s more room for improvement. The industry needs more investors from both the government and private sector at large. We need an industry bank that funds talents, events and everything entertaining,” he said.
