I will be surprised if ‘Atia’ doesn’t win Male Vocalist of the Year- Ras Kuuku

Ghanaian award-winning Reggae Dancehall musician, Ras Kuuku who has decided to pay tribute to Burga Highlife with ‘Atia’, has asserted that he would be surprised if the song doesn’t win him Male Vocalist of the Year at the next Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
According to him, he decided to pay tribute to Burga highlife and dedicate it to a pioneer, the late George Darko.
Speaking to Thespectatoronline.com, Ras Kuuku said, the Burga Highlife as an extension of the genre emanated from Ghanaian musicians who travelled abroad and decided to explore the country’s sound.
The multiple award-winning musician said after releasing the song a couple of days ago, he had received numerous feedback regarding his vocal prowess.
“Many people have reacted to my voice on the song. When it comes to voice, I have it, and Highlife allows you to express that vocal dexterity and I delivered on the song,” he added.
Against this backdrop, Ras Kuuku said he is miles ahead to win the Male Vocalist of the Year with this song next year.
He said with similar sentiment shared by many stakeholders it would come as a surprise if he doesn’t win the Male Vocalist of the Year category.
“Atia is a tale of lovers, they are in love and the woman is trying to resist an attempt by her lover to travel abroad. She is of the view that, if her partner leaves her behind, loneliness will set in and finish her,” he revealed.
