Leaders Aduana dare Kotoko in Kumasi

• Isaac Mintah – Aduana’s lethal finisher
Aduana Stars’ character to maintain their top spot and possibly win this season’s betPawa Ghana Premier League will be challenged tomorrow when they face off with defending champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their crucial Match-Day 27 fixture.
The Baba Yara Sports Stadium will host the two giants as the wounded Porcupine Warriors would be geared up to bounce back to winning ways and maintain pressure on the top-four teams.
After their devastating 3-0 defeat to Berekum Chelsea in their last game, Kotoko currently sit on fifth position and must secure all three points to close the eight- point gap between leaders Aduana Stars.
Another slip would throw Kotoko’s title ambitions into chaos as other teams including Bechem United, Accra Hearts of Oak and Medeama SC are pushing towards the summit.
The likes of Ibrahim Danlad, Rahid Nortey, Justice Blay, Isaac Oppong and Georges Mfegue must stake a claim on the team and lead the Porcupine Warriors to an important victory against a very resilient Aduana side.
For Aduana, they should be beaming with confidence ahead of the encounter following their blistering form this season which has seen their lead marksman – Isaac Mintah, score some great goals.
The leaders also go into the game on the back of a 1-0 victory against Accra Great Olympics to secure their top spot.
They would be determined to maintain their incredible form to deepen the woes of Kotoko; though it promises to be a keenly-contested encounter.
Another top-liner for the weekend would be the clash between Bechem United and Hearts at Bechem today.
Following their win over Nsoatreman, Hearts now occupy the third position on the league table, while Bechem follow with the fourth position with just a point separating the two sides in the top-four race.
Hearts are determined to secure consecutive wins, while Bechem United would be geared up to secure some points to maintain their position.
Other games for today would see Kotoku Royals facing off with Real Tamale United (RTU), while Olympics host Tamale City at their new adopted home – the Sogakope Sports Stadium, tomorrow.
At Dawu, Dreams FC will square off with Samartex, while Bibiani Gold Stars welcome Berekum Chelsea to Bibiani for another interesting encounter.
At Nsoatre, King Faisal play as guests of Nsoatreman, while Karela host Legon Cities at the CAM Park.

The Black Starlets’ technical team, led by Coach Stephen Frimpong Manso, will conclude their Southern sector player scouting exercise in the Greater Accra region next week.
This initiative aims to identify talented young players born after January 1, 2009, from across the region.
The Greater Accra scouting exercise, which has been divided into three segments, will kick off at the Tema Sports Stadium on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, before moving to Madina Astro Turf on Wednesday, April 23, and later to Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
The screening process involves a rigorous selection exercise, ultimately leading to the selection of top prospects for the U17 National team’s pool of players.
This scouting exercise is part of the Ghana Football Association’s efforts to develop the next generation of players for the Black Starlets.
The Southern sector screening exercise, which began in Cape Coast, has already made stops in Koforidua and Ho in the Eastern and Volta regions, respectively.
The Black Starlets coaching staff have been actively scouting talents across various regions. Recently, they conducted scouting exercises in Northern Ghana (covering Brong Ahafo, Northern, Upper East, and Upper West regions) and the middle belt (covering Ashanti, Western, and Western North regions).
