Man , 55, electrocuted in mosque
A 55-year-old Muslim who went to the mosque to clean up the place for prayers was killed when he came into contact with a live electric cable.
The incident took place at a mosque at Nima junction in the Asokore-Mampong Municipality, on Saturday.
A relative who would not mention his name said the deceased, Baba Haruna Suleiman, was cleaning the mosque together with other committee members when the incident occurred.
According to the relative, the deceased and the committee members took the decision to clean the Al-Abayan mosque for prayers on Saturday following the easing of restrictions on public gathering by the president.
The deceased was rushed to a nearby health facility, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
He had since been buried according to the Muslim tradition.

Presidential Race: EC announces list of qualified candidates to contest 2024 elections
The Electoral Commission has finally announced list of candidates who qualify to contest the 2024 Presidential race.In a statement issued today, the EC indicated that “Following the successful conduct of the Filing of Nominations from September 9-13, 2024.”
” The Commission instituted a thorough
examination of the Nomination Forms submitted by the Candidates to ensure
conformity with requirements as set out in law,” the added.
“The Electoral Commission wishes to inform the General Public that the following persons ave successfully gone through the Nomination process and qualify to contest as Candidates in the 2024 Presidential Election,” the concluded.

Police arrest three persons and declare others wanted in connection with violent disturbances at Apam
The Ghana Police Service has arrested three persons and declared others wanted in connection with violent disturbances which left one person injured at Apam in the Central Region on SSeptember 16, 2024.
The suspects, who have been identified as Alhaji Kassim Mohammed, Stephen Cobbinah alias Bonjour, and Joseph Mensah alias Kofi Kokor, together with others, armed with offensive weapons, disrupted a commissioning ceremony for the equipment for the District Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP) at Apam, which resulted in the violence.
Suspects Alhaji Kassim Mohammed, Stephen Cobbinah, and Joseph Mensah are currently in custody and will be put before court to face justice.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to get the other suspects also arrested.
