Mas-ud Didi Dramani to continue as Black Galaxies

Mas-ud Didi Dramani will continue as Black Galaxies head coach having taken over from Annor Walker in September last year.

The former Black Stars assistant coach is expected to assemble a strong squad to compete for a place in the next edition of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament.

Didi Dramani who currently works with Right to Dream Academy, previously led Ghana to win Bronze at the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan before winning the domestic double (Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup) with Asante Kotoko in 2014.

He served as assistant coach to Otto Addo and subsequently Chris Hughton – to qualify Ghana to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire. Didi Dramani played for Bolgatanga Soccer Masters, Real Tamale United and Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs before calling time on his playing career 24 years ago.

The former Asante Kotoko coach will be assisted by former Medeama SC and Accra Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu and Baba Nuhu of Pearl Pia Ladies.

Ghana will aim to make another appearance at the CHAN tournament having suffered a quarter final exit in the last edition in Algeria.

Kurt Edwin Simoen-Okraku arrives in Nairobi for CAF meeting

President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of the Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting of the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF).

The Ghana Football Association boss is attending the meeting in his capacity as the President of the sub-regional bloc, the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.

The high-powered meeting, to be chaired by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, on Monday, 16th September 2024.

After the meeting, Dr. Motsepe will brief the media on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 13h00 local time (10h00 GMT) at a press conference in Nairobi, Kenya.

Areas to be covered in the briefing will include the CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027, TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship and other up-coming CAF events.

President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku arrived in Nairobi on Sunday September 15, 2024, for the top level CAF meeting.

All you need to know about GFA borehole project 

GFA Borehole Strategy – Facts

1. The GFA made a specific request to FIFA for support for playing infrastructure

2. The title of the project was the GFA Borehole Project. The intent of the project derives from this title and is unambiguous.

3. The GFA has never applied for any project from FIFA for maintenance of pitches (of national stadiums)

4. The focus of the FIFA grant was the construction of boreholes and provision of accessories, including but not limited to, water tanks to facilitate the provision of water to improve the watering of pitches for our Game Centre strategy – RFAs, DOL and GPL clubs .As captured in all reports and documentation covering the project, this FIFA Grant was primarily for the construction of Boreholes and water reservoirs for watering of pitches.

The project was not for the maintenance of pitches in our national stadiums.

5. Because of the number of clubs playing at the Tamale Sports Stadium at the time, a decision was taken to place one of the water tanks and borehole in that facility.

6. The GFA borehole strategy is a public strategy that was approved by the Executive Council and approved at the GFA Congress.
