Medeama, Dreams FC lock horns in Champion of Champions game
Tarkwa-based Mede¬ama SC, winners of the 2022-23 Ghana Premier League will face FA Cup holders Dreams FC in the Champion of Champions game at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium tomorrow at 6pm.
Already, Ghanaians had a foretaste of what to expect tomorrow as the two teams featured in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup compe¬titions over the weekend.
Medeama SC brushed aside Remo Stars 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 aggre¬gate scoreline with Dreams FC beating Milo FC de Kank¬an of Guinea 3-2 aggregate.
During the just-ended league season, Dreams FC inflicted one of the heavi¬est league defeats on Me¬deama SC, a 4-0 thrashing at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu in the first round.
Medeama redeemed their image in the second round, albeit a 3-2 win at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on their way to amassing 60 points to be crowned champions.
Dreams FC got the ticket for this game after beating King Faisal for the FA Cup.
Medeama have in their ranks new signings like Daniel Lomotey, Osah Ber¬nardinho Tetteh, Emman¬uel Cudjoe, Ibrahim Larbi, Richard Akrofi, and Zimba¬bwean international Kudak¬washe Mahachi, who may be tried with the match ahead of a long season.
For Coach Abdul Karim Zito of Dreams FC, the blend of experienced John Antwi with newbies Sulemana Suweidu Suhiyini, Richard Mensah, and Fran¬cis Odoom, with the old guards, should be enough ammunition to blow off their opponents.
The game will be her¬alded by a derby between regional rivals Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs and Venomous Viper at 3 p.m.
