MUSIGLO donates to K.K. Kabobo

The leadership of Musicians’ Organisation Global (MUSIGLO) last Friday donated to help veteran highlife musician, K.K. Kabobo with his medical expenses as part of efforts to support musicians.

Since images and videos of the veteran musician, who is battling liver disease, began making the rounds on social media last week, the news of his failing health has been concerning.

The money that K.K. Kabobo received was provided by the Solidarity Fund, which MUSIGLO established at the end of the previous year.

The delegation, led by the organisation’s founder and president, Mrs. Deborah Freeman, presented K.K. Kabobo with an undisclosed sum of money on the organisation’s behalf.

During the presentation, Mrs. Freeman revealed that MUSIGLO is dedicated to the wellbeing of all musicians, whom she views as positive role models for young people.

She said the donation was a part of the organisation’s attempt to support the musicians during difficult times.

Following the donation, Mrs. Freeman told the media that the Solidarity Fund was established to support members’ welfare, encourage high-calibre musicianship, and lessen financial hardship among both new and seasoned artistes.

The fund specifically strives to support all musicians who subscribe to MUSIGLO, as well as ageing musicians, upcoming musicians, underground musicians, music bands, choirs, and industry professionals.

She further explained that the Solidarity Fund’s four primary emphasis areas where donations from donors and member artistes are combined to maximise its impact.

The four main areas of attention are as follows: Assistance with healthcare and income support for veteran musicians; Pensions matching contributions for musicians; Artiste and music promotion development; and Assistance with recording and promoting music for up-and-coming and underground musicians.

She stated that, “Musicians deserve better than to die poor,” stressing that the Solidarity Fund will set ambitious goals to alter the course of musicianship worldwide by utilising its influence as a catalyst for change.

The musician’s family expressed gratitude to MUSIGLO’s leadership for their assistance.

Ayisi teams up with Fameye for Highlife classic “Sika”

In a follow-up to his successful collaboration with Worlasi on “Everyday People,” Ayisi has once again partnered with prolific songwriter Fameye for a timeless highlife track titled “Sika,” which translates to “Money.”

This track is expected to make waves across Ghana and beyond, as it speaks to the universal pursuit of financial stability in a meaningful, melodious way.

Money, as Ayisi rightly points out, is a universal and never-ending topic of discussion. In “Sika,” both artists reflect on the role money plays in life and the lengths one must go to secure it.

Ayisi emphasizes a strong work ethic, noting that laziness will only lead to hunger and hardship. His message is clear: one must take action and pursue financial stability to navigate life successfully.

On the other hand, Fameye’s verse focuses on the idea of self-reliance when it comes to wealth. He highlights that becoming wealthy is something he must achieve on his own, without waiting for handouts or relying on others.

Fameye’s perspective complements Ayisi’s, creating a well-rounded narrative about ambition, responsibility, and financial independence.

“Sika,” produced by GroovyWrld, is deeply rooted in the classic highlife sound—a genre that has long been a cornerstone of Ghanaian music. The soulful melodies make it an instant classic that evokes a sense of nostalgia, while the contemporary twist keeps it fresh for today’s audience.

Ayisi, widely respected for his independent spirit and unique musical style, has typically preferred working alone, cultivating his own space in the industry. However, his recent collaborations signal a new chapter in his career, one that is more collaborative and expansive.

Through these collaborations, Ayisi is not only broadening his creative horizons but also offering his fans new and exciting musical experiences.

With “Sika,” Ayisi and Fameye remind us that while money may not be everything, the drive to earn and sustain oneself is essential to success.
