Nungua residents turn up for ‘Operation Clean Your Frontage’

• The residents desilted chocked gutters

Mr. Abdul-Wahab Abukari, Municipal Environmental Health Officer of the Krowor Municipal Assembly (KROMA) has appealed to people in the area to adopt sanitation in their offices, homes and surroundings to achieve Sustainable Development Goal Six (SGD-6) which talks of access to sanitation and safe water.

According to him, a clean environment led to good health and well-being of the individual.

Mr. Abukari made the appeal when he addressed the media at Nungua after a clean-up in the on-going “Opearation Clean Your Frontage.”

Participants desilted chocked gutters, collected refuse and cleaned the Nungua market and other areas.

He said that so far about 20 people had been prosecuted and made to pay fines ranging from GH¢ 600.00 and above depending on the gravity of the offence committed.

The Environmental Health Officer mentioned indiscriminate dumping of waste water, dumping of waste among others as some of the offences that culminated in the prosecution of the said offenders.

CSA working closely with X to restore President Mahama’s page

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has provided an update on President Mahama’s Twitter page hack.

According to them in a statement today, in the early hours of Monday, March 17, 2025, the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) received a report concerning the compromise of President John Dramani Mahama’s X (formerly Twitter) account, @JDMahama. 

According to them, the account has been used to promote a cryptocurrency called “Solana Africa”.

They revealed, “We understand the public concern this incident has generated and are actively addressing the situation. “

The Authority noted that they are working closely with X and other relevant stakeholders to

address this incident and prevent future occurrences.

The CSA will provide further updates as the investigation progresses.

Interior Minister Welcomes New Inspector General of Police

Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, welcomed the new Inspector General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohono to his office in Accra.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno visited the Hon. Minister to formally introduce himself to him.

Mr. Yohuno assured the Minister of his commitment to collaboration, aiming to make the Police Service one of the best in the region.

In response,  Muntaka congratulated Mr. Yohuno on his new role and pledged his support for a successful tenure.

The Minister also tasked the IGP to improve professionalism in the Service.
