Sandra Ankobiah organises free breast screening

Ghanaian actress, lawyer and entrepreneur, Sandra Ankobiah organised a free breast cancer screening for women at Madina Market on Wednesday.
The exercise was aimed at bringing such initiative to the doorstep of women and create awareness about breast cancer.
Speaking to The Spectator, she said this was under her The Women Institute Foundation initiative to help save lives.
She said that due to the nature of their trade, market women mostly did not get time to go for such screenings and against this backdrop, that she and her team, decided to hold the programme at the Madina market.
“Depending on the outcome of the screening, they are either referred to a medical facility or given the necessary advice,” she said.
Sandra Ankobiah further encouraged all and sundry to constantly screen their breasts for their own good.
“There are a lot of educated people who do not know the importance of screening and have not screened their breasts before, I will advise them to do the needful,” she said.
She said it was crucial to check because breast cancer was one of the leading killing cancers amongst women.
The Women Institute Foundation by Sandra Ankobiah is focused on promoting and advancing the course of women.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to her for embarking on such initiative and urged others to emulate the gesture.
