Sarkodie announces 2024 presidential bid, asks fans to approve

Ghanaian hip-hop/hiplife musician Sarkodie has announced that he would like to run for president in the year 2024.

The multiple award-winning rapper mentioned his intentions in a tweet on Thursday, July 23.

However, he asked for an approval from his fan army.

“Presidential candidate 2024 Anaa mo se?” he captioned a photo he shared on the micro-blogging site.

It’s unclear why he wanted to venture into politics and his plan for Ghanaians when he becomes president in the future but it seems he is building his political career.

Sarkodie has been a constant critic of African politics. He does this through his songs.

Recently, he fired politicians and racists with his first collaboration with M.anifest, titled “Brown Paper Bag”.

Fast-rising Ghanaian musician, Romeo Swag, was declared the winner at the grand finale of the Mentor Season 13 event held at the National Theatre on Sunday, January 12.

He beat four other finalists to claim the coveted title and a significant prize package.

After 13 weeks of intense competition, five talented finalists remained: AJ Tunes, Rey Cooper, Jimi, Romeo Swag, and Robby Kay, vying for the coveted title.

Romeo Swag walked away with a significant prize package, including GH₵80,000 cash and GH₵80,000 worth of airtime.

Empress Gifty’s mother, Agaga goes on Saturday

Evangelist Agnes Abafoduba Annan, actress and mother of Ghanaian gospel musician, Empress Gifty goes home on Saturday.

The veteran actress affectionately called Agaga or Maame Fante passed away on December 14,2024 after a short illness.

The final funeral rite will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Tema Community 8, No.3 School Park.

This would be followed by a thanksgiving service at Bethel Family Assemblies of God Church at Tema Community 22 on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

The family and loved ones will gather at Community 8, No.3 School Park after the church service.

Agnes Abafoduba Annan was born on December 9, 1954, at New Takoradi Railways Quarters to Mr. Albert Kweku Annan, a Carpenter with Ghana Railways and Madam Mary Donkor, a fishmonger,both of blessed memories.
