Baka Dabri goes back to his root with “Busangani Abrante3” EP

Renowned Zimbabwean Author, Matshona Dhliwayo, once said that “It is in the roots, not the branches, that a tree’s greatest strength lies.”

For this reason, it is always useful for not to forget your roots in a career path.

Interestingly, one of Ghana’s finest Afro Culture artistes, Raphael Somaila Ibrahim, known in showbiz as Baka Dabri has released his debut music project dubbed ‘Busangani Abrante3’ EP under the management of Busanga Music.

The EP is an anthology of songs that reflect the brand and artistry of Baka Dabri fused with Busanga culture, with song like, Mgajiya, Ekiki Me, Corner Corner, Go Back To Hell, and To Aba Pa.

Speaking to The Spectator, the musician revealed that the new wave of ‘Busanga music’ movement said, he is unique, he owns his style and wants to be seen as different from all artistes in Ghana in terms of the type of music he produces.

“I am from the Upper East Region, and as a Busanga, I felt the need to infuse my culture in my music to make me unique and look forward to win the Grammy’s in the nearest future,” he said.

The songwriter and acoustic guitarist further added that though unsung compared with some of the notable names in the Ghanaian music industry, he wass gradually gaining recognition having had the rare privilege of performing on some stages.

All set for Diana Hamilton’s Awake Experience 2025

Award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician, Diana Hamilton, has promised patrons of an unforgettable encounter at this year’s Awake Experience 2025.

The event is expected to inspire and transform lives with its central theme, ‘Move’ drawn from Deuteronomy 1:6.

This much-anticipated worship event will grace three key cities in Ghana – Accra on February 16 at ICGC Christ Temple East, Teshie; Kumasi on February 23 at Bantama COP,  and Sunyani on March 2 at the Eusbett Hotel Auditorium.

The Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton 2025 will feature distinguished lineup of gospel ministers, including Ps Joe Beecham, Cindy Thompson, Uncle Ato, Team Eternity, Kofi Owusu Peprah, Quame Gyedu, ACP Kofi Sarpong, Mabel Okyere, Kweku Teye, Sandy Asare, Elder Emmanuel Awortwe and many others.

Leading up to these powerful worship encounters, Diana Hamilton will through the Diana Hamilton Foundation undertake impactful outreach and community development activities.

 In collaboration with Zoomlion Ghana, a grand cleanup exercise will be organised to foster environmental consciousness and community responsibility.

 A high school outreach programme at Accra Girls Senior High School will inspire and mentor students through empowering faith-based discussions.

A significant highlight of the charity activities is the commissioning of a six-classroom block in Dodo Tamale, a project initiated in 2022 by the Diana Hamilton Foundation in partnership with the Adom Group of Companies.

Maxi Sway teams up with Kweku Darlington on ‘Efie Bayie’

 One of Ghana’s fastest-growing musicians, Maxi Sway known in private life as Alex Bonsu, has teamed up with music sensation, Kweku Darlington on ‘Efie Bayie’.

The song is off his new External Play (EP) dubbed, ‘Love and Life’ which is made up of five songs.

The EP written and performed by Maxi Sway, drew inspiration from real life situations.

According to Maxi Sway, ‘Efie Bayie’ was inspired by something unfortunate which happened in the life of his producer Ssnowbeatz.

He revealed that “some years back as it was almost close to the B.E.C.E examinations, Ssnowbeatz fell sick and had to write the exams at the hospital with a few Security Personnel around.”

“Ssnowbeatz told me it was a very difficult time because he was out of school for a while and had no time to even revise or prepare for the exams. He failed the papers be­cause of his health and even didn’t go for the results,” he said.

According to him, after hearing the story of Ssnowbeatz, “It got me thinking and it inspired the song Efie Beyie.”

The songs on the EP include, Me­ganja, Efie Bayie, Wayo Love, Come Closer and Seke.

The songs making waves were produced by Klassic Beatz and Ssnowbeatz.
