The Member of Parliament for La Dade-Kotopon Constituency, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, last weekend presented starter packs to 274 graduands who passed out from the third ‘Nye Awo Kpakpa’ Skills Training Programme.

The packs include gas cylinders, sewing machines and other items to assist beneficiaries start their businesses.

Participants went through a six-month intensive training in catering, soap making, cosmetology, dress making, beads making and are currently writing the National Vocational Technology Innovative (NVTI) test.

Addressing the guests at the graduation ceremony, Ms Sowah said the goal of the skills training programme was to ensure that everyone in the constituency regardless of their age, background and gender, was equipped with tools to thrive in life.

This raises the number of trained personnel to 554 after the first two editions produced 280 skilled individuals.

The MP urged the beneficiaries to use the skills acquired as a foundation to self-sufficiency.
