MLC commends BTL Africa and Gloria Anongor for a successful conference

The Chief Executive Officer of Breakfast Club Africa (BCA) Dr Modupe Taylor-Pearce, has commended Gloria Dede Anongor and BTL Africa for a successful MLC conference in Accra.

Each year, BCA Leadership, Africa’s largest network of Executive Coaches and Leadership Enhancement Engine organises the Made in Africa Leadership Conference (MLC).

This year, they gathered over 300 leaders in Accra, Ghana at the Marriot Hotel and several other countries online from June 14 to 15.

Against this backdrop, Ms. Gloria Dede Anongor, the Country Manager at BTL Africa, led the team to the successful organisation of the conference which was held in Accra.

Dr Modupe Taylor-Pearce applauded Gloria Dede Anongor and the Team for the exceptional job done in ensuring seamless production and setup.

He gave these congratulatory remarks during his address at the closing ceremony of the event.

Gloria Dede Anongor has been in production and project management for well over 10 years and has built experience in this field across numerous multinational companies in Ghana and beyond.

Her success in executing the MLC conference is a testament to her skills as a project manager.

About Gloria Dede Anongor

Gloria Anongor has been working in the events and marketing sector for over ten years. She has risen through the ranks as a client service person to Senior Account Manager (Events and Operations) and to her current position as Country Manager.

She has executed projects in different African countries including Mauritius, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia among others in the capacity of event manager. Her years of expertise have seen her successfully leading teams with her impeccable people and communication skills, dedication and passion.

With her resilience, she brings to any team, accrued leadership experience and drive, customer excellence, dedication and ownership of all projects and executions. Her areas of expertise include Brand Activations, Brand Management, Sales, Event Coordination, Marketing Communication and Customer Relations.

Gloria has been the Country Manager of Benchmark Marketing since 2011, running the entire business portfolio with over 14 permanent staff and 50 contract staff with domain focus on Business Sustainability, Generation, Profitability and Staff Satisfaction.

She has worked as Client facing and Execution Lead on several projects including but not limited to:

The Accra Initiative – European Union awarded contract to organize a three-day conference for the Accra Initiative. This was a High-level security meeting for member states on the Accra Initiative in 2022 which hosted Heads of State and Presidents at the Accra International Conference Center with a climax at the Kempinski Hotel.

International Lands Conference 2022 by the Ministry for Lands and Natural Resources. This was a three-day conference and exhibition which took place at the Accra International Conference Center.

She was also instrumental in putting together the Ghana Enterprise Agency’s youth summits for Small Businesses and start-ups, the MTN Ayoba hackathon and Accelerator programme for App based SMEs in Ghana, and the Ghana Climate Innovation Center, Canadian Ministerial Visit.

Africa Leadership Network Conference – A 4 days conference for over 300 leaders from Africa and other parts of the world held in Ghana in 2019 with prominent international figures like Naomi Campbell, Strive Masiyiwa, Masai Ujiri and other Business Giants on the continent attending.

  • Maggi Portfolio – organized and coordinated the MAGGI Consumer Forums across all 10 regions for 3 years
  • SHELL Fuel Save, launched the Shell Fuel Save campaign while Focusing on focus group meetings with Commercial Drivers across the regions.
  • National Chocolate Week – Organized the National Chocolate week celebrations
  • Vodafone – Launched Vodafone 4G with a key focus on community awareness and sign-ups, organized and coordinated the yearly Vodafone Retailer engagements across the country.
  • Vodafone Ghana Foundation – Organized and coordinated the Vodafone Healthfest events across the country for over three years,

From August 2014 to 2021, she worked with BTL Marketing Solutions, Africa as Account manager to Senior Account Manager with prominent companies like Vodafone Ghana, Nestle Ghana, Shell Ghana, Guinness Ghana, Samsung Ghana, Proctor & Gamble, SC Johnson with a mandate to lead a team of Events and BTL professionals to execute flawless projects to achieve maximum brand exposure and sales for clients, maximizing revenue stream in the business, custodian of the brand and all communication activities for clients.

She achieved remarkable feats with her role in the Vodafone 4G launch and awareness activations in 2019, Nestle (Launch of MAGGI D3d33d3) in 2019; recording incremental sales of the product within the first 3 months of launch, Vodafone ‘yee twi kor’ in 2015. The success of the campaign led to a reloaded version for the following year.

She was involved in the WAFU Tournament in 2017 providing top-notch visibility for the tournament. She was the Project Coordination and Execution leader for the Africa Leadership Network 10th Anniversary celebration.

She has also worked in the capacity of Head of Content Development, New Business Development, and Training facilitator for Quantum Shift Coaching Solutions from 2012 to 2014 where she generated a content lead industry-specific coaching module for the Ghanaian market and was also responsible for

maximizing revenue stream in the business.

She worked as Head of Corporate Affairs for BT Group International from 2011 to 2012 responsible for corporate communication and external affairs and brand exposure and management. She led a team to execute an exceptional welfare service during an international movie shoot in Ghana (Ties That Binds).

Gloria Dede Anongor was also accountable for tactical Events/ BTL activations for the business and clients, developing innovative concepts, media scheduling, and placements.

She holds an MBA in International Trade from Anhalt University and a degree in Business Administration. Her soft skills certifications are Events Management, Project Management, Communication, and Negotiations skills and Coaching skills.

FA President, Vice-President, football family pays last respect to late Kotoko fan Nana Pooley

President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku led a delegation from the Ghana Football Association and the football fraternity to mourn with Asante Kotoko and pay last respect at the funeral of devoted fan, Yaw Frimpong, better known as ‘Nana Pooley’, on Thursday March 6, 2025, in Kumasi.

The funeral, held at the Heroes park, Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi saw a strong representation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and key members of the football fraternity.

President Okraku and Vice-President Mark Addo attended the funeral alongside key football industry players.

The President, was joined by his team of Executive Council members, Regional Football Association Chairmen, Club Executives and officials from the GFA to show support and solidarity to Asante Kotoko and bid farewell to the passionate fan.

The late Nana Pooley, who passed away painfully last month, was interred at Ahafo Kukuom Royal Mausoleum on Thursday March 6, 2025.

The final funeral rites attracted football administrators, supporters and enthusiasts from across the country, as the fraternity celebrated the life of a true loyal fan of the Porcupine Warriors in particular, and Ghana football in general.

Nana Pooley, known for his unwavering support and dedication to Asante Kotoko, was highly regarded by the club and its supporters.

His funeral drew a significant crowd, as football officials, fans, and well-wishers gathered to honor the memory of the passionate fan who played an important role in fostering the vibrant fan culture of Asante Kotoko.

This gathering reflects the unity and shared respect in Ghana football, as the football family stood with Asante Kotoko during this difficult time.

NHIA set to boost its cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), in partnership with a leading private cybersecurity solutions provider in Ghana, CyberHawk Limited, is advancing the Authority’s digital infrastructure to ensure seamless operations.

This is to safeguard the Authority’s digital technologies and maintain the trust of active members of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

In this context, the NHIA Management Information System (MIS) Directorate in the Head Office, on February 11, 2024, launched a three-day brainstorming session on the organization’s cybersecurity enhancement agenda.

The MIS Directorate Ag. Director, Mr. Daniel Blankson explained that the collaborative meeting aimed to scrutinize the NHIA’s Information Technology architecture, identifying potential risks and gapsto enhance its cybersecurity posture. 

“By leveraging CyberHawk Limited’s expertise, the NHIA seeks to fortify its defenses against cyber threats, protecting sensitive information and maintaining the trust of its members.”

Mr. Blankson applauded the synergy between the two organizations and underscored the Authority’s commitment to embracing cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions to drive its mission forward.

The Head of Information Security and Standards Unit, in the MIS Directorate, Mr. Ebenezer Hooper, highlighted the Authority’s significant milestone on the digital transformation journey.

According to him, the NHIA is actively engaged in fully adopting and implementing modern digital systems to improve its operations.

He said, “The three-day brainstorming meeting will culminate in the development of a robust IT infrastructure, as well as strategic plans to translate security implementations into tangible IT cost savings for the organization.”

“There is the need to form a steering committee or IT advisory committee, operated under the Board, so that they can pay more attention in protecting the huge IT investment while ensuring cyber security-related policies are well protected,” he added.

The Project Manager of CyberHawk Limited, Mr. Chetan Narayana Murthy, lauded the collaboration and anticipated that it would empower the NHIA to implement comprehensive cybersecurity measures.

According to him, “This is a huge project that will greatly benefit the NHIA by implementing robust cybersecurity measures, safeguarding their systems, and ultimately protecting the sensitive information of NHIA members and healthcare providers.”

A Senior Manager of IT infrastructure, Mr. David Asare Addo, and his colleague, a Senior Manager of Applications, Mr. Enock Afanyi, with the MIS Directorate, gave an overview of the NHIA’s current technological landscape.

Present at the meeting were representatives from the Claims, Membership and Regional Operations (MRO), Research, Policy, Monitoring, and Evaluation (RPME), Corporate Affairs, the Audit, Administration, and Human Resource Directorates.
