FIFA TDS: Regional teams receive orientation ahead of elite U15 Boys Championship Kick-Off

Ahead of the much-anticipated Elite U15 Boys Championship, participating regional teams gathered at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram for an orientation session on Wednesday.

The meeting provided crucial information about the competition, ensuring that players, coaches, and officials are well-prepared for the tournament’s commencement.

The orientation session began with a welcome address delivered by Eugene Noel Nobel, an Executive Council Member and Chairman of the Elite U15 Committee.

Nobel expressed his excitement for the tournament, emphasizing the significance of the event in developing the next generation of football talent in Ghana. He highlighted the importance of sportsmanship and discipline throughout the championship, urging the young athletes to make the most of this opportunity to showcase their skills.

Following the welcome address, JoeSalam Abubakar, 1st Vice Chairman of the National Juvenile Committee, delivered a special message to the players and coaches on behalf of President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and the National Juvenile Committee.

In his message, Abubakar encouraged the young players to approach the competition with focus and determination, reminding them that this tournament is a stepping stone toward their future aspirations in football. He also commended the coaches for their dedication to nurturing talent and contributing to the development of Ghanaian football.

Michael Kwabla Fiaduse, a member of the organizing committee, then took the teams through essential aspects of the competition, ensuring that all participants are aware of the rules and procedures that will govern the tournament.

He covered critical topics such as pre-match meetings, submission of team sheets, appropriate strips for games, and key match regulations.

His detailed presentation aimed to ensure smooth coordination throughout the championship, helping teams to focus on their performance on the field.

The orientation session marks the final preparation stage before the official kick-off of the Elite U15 Boys Championship. With the teams now fully briefed, anticipation is building as young talents from across Ghana get ready to compete for regional pride and showcase their potential on the national stage.

The Elite U15 Boys Championship is part of the FIFA Talent Development Scheme designed to identify and nurture promising young players and offer them a platform to compete at a high level.

Kudus aplogises to Ghanaians on behalf of Black Stars

Mohammed Kudus has apologised to Ghanaians on behalf of the Black Stars after poor outings in their AFCON Qualifiers against Sudan.

The Black Stars drew against Sundan in Accra and lost to them in Libya.

These results means Ghana risks qualifying to the next AFCON slated for 2025 in Morocco.

In a statement issued today October 17,2024, Mohammed Kudus noted that “As someone who captained the team in the two games, it is with great humility and a deep sense of responsibility that I issue this statement.”

He added that ” On behalf of the entire team, I would like to extend our sincerest apologies to the people of Ghana for our recent performances against Sudan in Accra and Libya.”

According to him, “Despite our utmost effort and dedication, the results did not reflect our aspirations or the pride we have in representing our beloved nation. We understand the disappointment and frustration this has caused, and we share those feelings “

” We want to assure Ghanaians that we are committed to learning from our mistakes, regrouping, and working tirelessly to restore the Black Stars to our former glory. We value the unwavering support and loyalty you’ve shown us, and we’re determined to make you proud once again,” he added.

The captain concluded, “We urge all fans to stand by us during this challenging period. Your encouragement and faith in us will fuel our determination to succeed. We will not give up. We look forward to redeeming ourselves in the upcoming matches.”

New trophy unveiled for 2024/2025 Malta Guinness Women Premier League season

Ahead of the new 2024/2025 Malta Guiness Women’s Premier League season, a new trophy has been unveiled at an event held at the headquarters of the association in Accra.

The trophy, locally designed, when looked at has, the a “W” sign representing ‘Women Football’.

It is also embellished intricately with sparkling gold to symbolise the strength, hope, and growth of Women’s Football in Ghana.

It was a sight to behold as EX-Players, Fafali Dumehasi, Romanatu Tahiru and other players from the Immigration, Prisons, Army and Police Service matched majestically with it to the main stage of the event to the admiration of all stakeholders present at the launch.

The unveiling of the trophy also marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League as it sparks new conversations around which team is prepared to win it for the first time.

The new league season is set to kick off on the weekend of Friday 18th – Monday 21st October across the Northern and Southern Zones.
