Adukrom chief, elders honour Presiding member

The Presiding Member of the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly, Mr Asiedu Offei, has been honoured by the chief and people of Adukrom.
The gesture was in recognition of his immense contributions, either in cash or kind, not only to Adukrom, the traditional headquarters of the Nifa Division of the Akuapem Paramouncy, but the entire Akuapem Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The Chief of Adukrom, who doubles as the Nifahene, Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V, bestowed the honour on him at Adukrom recently.
The function, which coincided with the town’s Akwasidae Festival, was witnessed by sub-chiefs, elders and people from all walks of life.
According to Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio, the chiefs and people of the Nifa Division had to honour Mr Offei becauase of his commitment towards the development of Okuapemman and beyond.
The chief read the citation and said, “Your esteem organisation has served the Adukrom, Okere community by contributing financially towards several projects which have lifted the town to become a beacon of many. Your contribution and commitment to the success of Odwira Festivals is much appreciated. Chiefs, Queens and people of Adukrom appreciate your patroitism and are grateful to you. Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V on this occasion of Akwasidae bestows on you this honour. Ayekoo.”
Osuodumgya was hopeful that Mr Asiedu Offei would continue to support the area to help uplift the town and improve the living conditions of the people.
Mr Offei, who was grateful for the honour done him, assured that he would never turn his back against the town in terms of supporting the construction of social amenities either with cash or materials.
He promised that he would donate three cows to Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio to enable him and sub-chiefs and the entire people to celebrate this year’s Odwira Festival.
