Ahmed Suale murder suspect admits taking photos but denies selling to Kennedy Agyapong – Prosecution
Thirty-five-year-old businessman Daniel Koranteng, also known as Nana Amakye, has denied allegations that he sold photographs of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale to Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong before Suale’s murder in 2019.
Mr Koranteng, has been remanded in custody by the Madina District Court after being provisionally charged with murder.
Prosecutors argue that he played a role in Ahmed Suale’s killing, citing call records and his presence near the journalist’s residence at the time of the murder.
“Call records placed the accused in Madina near Suale’s residence before and at the time of the murder,” the prosecution said.
However, the prosecution alleges the accused rejected claims that he provided photographs of the deceased to Kennedy Agyapong.
This is despite admitting, per the prosecutors, that he knew Suale, had visited Agyapong, and had taken photos with the deceased.
“He admitted knowing the deceased, visiting Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, and taking photographs with the deceased but denied selling the photographs to anyone,” the prosecution told the court.
The prosecution maintains that Suale himself had identified Koranteng as the person responsible for supplying the images that were later broadcast on Net2 TV, where Kennedy Agyapong called for retribution against the journalist.
According to the prosecution, Mr Koranteng fled to the United Kingdom in 2019 after declining multiple police invitations.
He later returned to Ghana and was arrested in Amasaman on March 15, 2025, following intelligence reports.
The court has remanded him into custody pending further investigations, with committal proceedings set for April 1, 2025.
Meanwhile, the prosecution insists that investigations are ongoing.

NACOC arrests long-time drug target
An intelligence-led operation by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a 56-year-old Nigerian, Uchechukwu Chima at Oyarifa, a suburb of Accra.
A statement signed by the Acting Director, Public Affairs and International Relations,Francis Opoku Amoah a search conducted by the NACOC team at the suspect’s hideout uncovered substances suspected to be narcotic drugs.
He added that field tests conducted on the suspected substance proved positive for cocaine and heroin, both narcotic drugs.
The suspected narcotic substances, with a total weight of about 192kg of cocaine and 0.42kg of heroin, are estimated at a street value of Two Million, One Hundred and Twenty-one Thousand, Six Hundred and Sixty United States Dollars (US$2.1 Million).
The suspect, Uchechukwu Chima who has been a target for NACOC for some time now, is noted to be the brain behind some seizures/arrests made by NACOC in the past.
NACOC, by this seizure and arrest, has taken this substantial quantity of drugs from the street, saving millions of lives of people who would have otherwise perished from abusing these hard drugs.
NACOC remains committed to making Ghana an unprofitable destination for drug trafficking and thus protecting the safety and well-being of all Ghanaians and the international community.
