Bible Society of Ghana holds symposium to mark 2024 Bible week

The Bible Society of Ghana (BSG) has held its 2024 Bible week symposium in Accra last week.
It was held under the theme “the Bible: guide for peace, unity and development.”
The symposium is aimed at thanking God for the gift of the Bible, drawing attention to the transformative power of the word of God and elevating the place of the Bible in the lives of Ghanaians.
It is also to encourage the reading the Bible and mobilising resources for the Bible work in Ghana.
The General Secretary of the BSG, Very Rev Dr John Kwesi Addo Jnr said this year was an election year for the country and that there was the need for peace, unity and development.
He said the Bible offers invaluable insights and teachings that could lead the country towards peace, unity and development it desired.
He called on Ghanaians to remain peaceful and united throughout the year through shared commitment to the values enshrined in the Bible so as to be empowered and poised for development.
The Director of the Institute for Christian Impact, Rev Dr Femi B. Adeleye said it was the desire of God that all men will have peace, adding that the Bible was also a tool for peace and development.
He said every Christian had the responsibility of changing the country through the Bible and that the presence of peace in a country, will cause that country to experience prosperity.
The programmes Director, The Anglican Church of Ghana, Rev Akua Ofori Boateng said the peace of Jesus Christ was the state of being in right relationship with others, the environment, and seeking the development of oneself, community and the country.
