Bison Imperial is here to support Ghana’s entertainment industry

Fast growing Ghanaian shipping and freight forwarding compa­ny, Bison Imperial Global Ship­ping and Logistics have announced their resolve to positively impact the entertainment industry.

The firm made this known during a press conference to unveil their investment in the creative space from 2023.

The Company disclosed that in the first quarter of the year, they intended to partner EM Production and Adanfopa Media in France for an Europe Tour (Finest Tour).

“Not limited to Europe, there would be an African tour with some Ghanaian artistes and other people in the creative space in the last quarter of the year” manager said.

Additionally, they indicated that Bison would be launching a non-gov­ernmental organisation, Foundation and Social Corporate Responsibility Projects in the second quarter of 2023.

According to them, the third quarter will see a seminar organised by Bison at a University in Ghana and other tertiary institutions and a support for underprivileged schools.

Touching on the decision to venture into the entertainment industry, Henry Raphael Kemausuor, the General Manager of Bison Im­perial Global Shipping and Logistics highlighted the role of the arts in socio-economic development.

“We have identified that the entertainment industry can change the ideology of a country. There are so much job creation opportunities in the entertainment sector and the government cannot do it alone . That is the reason why private sec­tor participation is essential in the promotion and investment in the entertainment industry to explore its hidden opportunities,” he noted.

As sponsors of the ‘Finest Tour’ by DJ ABK GH, Isaac Owusu Nyan­takyi Brempong, the Chief Execu­tive Officer (CEO) of Bison Imperial Global Shipping and Logistics said DJs are the first point of enter­tainment from all angels and also entertainment gives them a huge platform for visibility, global pen­etration and a very positive brand equity of every nation.

Also present at the press confer­ence were Mensah Emmanuel, the CEO of EM Production, Yaw Oppong Agyemang, the Head of Operations at Bison Imperial Global Shipping and Logistics, and Mr. Akwasi Boateng, the Public Relations Agent for Bison Imperial Global Shipping and Logistics.

Musicians Abochi and OV, to­gether with DJ ABK GH and MC Nana King were also present at the launch.

 MUSIGA honours Sparqlyn at 2025 Akwaaba Festival

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), led by veteran Ghana­ian Musician, Bessa Simons has honoured popular Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur Sparqlyn, known in private life as Ahmmed Kanneh Larweh.

Sparqlyn was honoured for his re­markable contributions to the coun­try’s music industry and youth devel­opment.

Sparqlyn was presented with two plaques for his outstanding contribu­tion to the Ghanaian music industry over the years.

In addition to the plaques, the mu­sician, who also holds the chieftaincy title Noryam Matse, the Development Chief of Manye Krobo, was presented with a beautifully crafted citation which was signed by Madam Elizabeth Tagoe of Tagoe Sisters fame, Chairper­son of The Greater Accra Chapter.

Sparqlyn, who was visibly moved by the recognition, expressed his grati­tude to MUSIGA and all who supported his journey.

In a chat with the media, he reaf­firmed his commitment to using his platform and chieftaincy role to pro­mote Ghanaian music and empower the youth.

The prestigious ceremony took place on March 6 at the National Theatre during the annual Akwaaba Festival organised by the Musicians Union of Ghana and under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Cre­ative Arts, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration, Ministry of Trade & Industry, Ghana Tourism Authority, National Commission on Culture and the National Theatre Executive Board.

TGMA unveils nominees this Saturday

The air is electric in Ghana’s music scene as the long-anticipated nominee announcement for the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) is nearly here.

Music lovers should mark their calendars for Saturday, March 15, when the nominees will be revealed live on TV3 and across the Ghana Music Awards official social media channels.

This year’s nominations promise to be some of the most competitive yet. After weeks of submissions and meticulous deliberations, music fans across the country will finally learn which artists and groups will be contending for the highly coveted awards.

The response was nothing short of phenomenal, with over 1,500 entries pouring in from more than 130 talented artists and groups—a true testament to the dynamic and ever-growing nature of Ghana’s music industry.

Once the deadline passed, an expert panel of industry insiders and stakeholders rolled up their sleeves for the daunting task of sifting through the entries.

The review process was thorough, with each submission evaluated based on a set of specific criteria to ensure only the most deserving artists and groups made it onto the shortlist.

The final selections were validated by the TGMA board and key industry players, ensuring transparency and fairness every step of the way.

The Big 5 Categories: The Showstoppers

While every category brings its own set of thrills, the Big 5 awards are the ultimate crown jewels. These prestigious categories will be revealed live on TV3 on Saturday, 15th March, it includes; Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Telecel Most Popular Song, New Artiste and Artiste of the Year.
