Burna boy, TiC and Shatta Wale

It was an awesome nights packed with excitements and thrills at the two-day Afrochella concert held at the El Wak Sports Stadium from December 28 to 29 as african music icons mesmerised thousands of revellers.

The Afrochella festival held in Ghana is a celebration of Africa’s diverse culture and the vibrant work of African creatives & entre­preneurs, with empahsis on African art, cuisine, music, and food.

The festival provided a two-day non-stop entertainment for revel­lers from UK, US, France, Canada, Nigeria, Togo, Ghana and across the world.

The festival started with Shat­ta Wale, Medikal, Kuami Eugene, Stonebwoy, Gyakie, Ayra Starr, Kofi Kinaata, King Promise, Fireboy DM­L,Kwesi Arthur, Juls and Tobi.

Interestingly, the day two which was also filled with a lot of fan had, Burna Boy, TiC, Asake, Mzbel, Falli Ipupa, Praye, KiDi, Kwaw Kese, Tinny, Pheelz, Young Stunna, Alibi X and Daliwonga.

All these starwalt ensured pa­trons had value for money as they enthralled them with classics from their repertoire.

Many who interacted with The Spectator expressed their excite­ment and enocuraged others to join the fan in Ghana during the festive season.

It came as a shock to many when it was announced by the organ­isers after Burna Boy’s performance at the event that Afrochella will not return.

“This is the last Afrochella,” said co-founder Abdul Abdullah to the thousands of people at the El-Wak stadium in the capital, Accra without any reasons.

It would be recalled that in October 2022, Cali­for­nia-based music fes­tival Coach­ella reportedly sued the organisers for trademark in­fringement.

 Miss Ghana 2025 finalists unveiled

 The talented 16 contestants have been unveiled at a grand ceremony held at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra last Saturday.

These finalists made the cut following gruelling auditions in No­vember 2024, where young women from across the country show­cased their beauty, intelligence, and passion for service.

According to the organisers, the search is for a queen who exem­plifies selflessness, intelligence, discipline, and dedication to soci­etal service.

The contestants will go through calculated weekly tasks ahead of the highly anticipated grand finale on March 29, 2025.

Each contestant will now rep­resent their respective regions as they compete for the prestigious Miss Ghana 2025 crown.

Organised by Exclusive Events Ghana and Miss Ghana Foundation, the Miss Ghana pageant is more than just a beauty competition.

As part of the modalities, the winner will not only represent Ghana on the global stage at Miss World but will also lead charitable initiatives under the Miss Ghana Foundation, focusing on support­ing vulnerable communities.

The contestants expressed their readiness to prove their mettle in the competition for the ultimate.
