Christmas in Ghana  …Where to go

It is another festive period and as usual event planners would be en­gaged with several activities, giving party lovers destinations to unwind after a long and turbulent year.

With persons from the diaspora already trooping into the country, the search would be on for some of the best events and places to hangout.

Starting from the weekend till the end of the year, it would be back-to-back action-packed lineup of shows within the capital and beyond.

Artistes have already scheduled their events and look forward to thrill­ing performances to give fans and mu­sic lovers something to cheer about.

The Spectator Agoro has a lineup of places and events to celebrate the season.

December 16: One of Ghana’s top rappers, Medikal will host his ‘Plan­ning and Plotting Concert’ at the Labadi Beach Hotel.

The charity-focused event is aimed at not only entertaining audience but make positive impact on society by way of giving back to the community.

Hence, all proceeds of the concert would be dedicated to supporting the less privileged in society, hence the rapper has called on Ghanaians to troop to the ven­ue to support a noble course.

Sunday, December 17: Anoth­er rapper Manifest will stage his annual concert, Manifestivities in Accra.

The award-win­ning musician has promised fans the ultimate music experience, expecting this year’s event to be better than previous editions.

Friday December 22: Dancehall sensation Stonebwoy will host the BHIM Concert at the Accra Sports Sta­dium. The event would be headlined by Jamaican dancehall star, Jahmiel.

The African-Caribbean music con­cert would see the Jamaican team up with Stonebwoy to give patrons a good treat.

December 24: The ‘Cituation All White Outdoor Party’ would take place at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.

The official Christmas party which has been a constant feature over the years would have some of Ghana’s finest musicians including, Akwaboah, Keche and Okyeame Kwame in atten­dance.

December 25: Sarkodie would stage the 2023 edition of ‘Rapperholic Rebirth’ Concert at the Grand Arena in Accra.

Other events from December 18 to January 1 include, Dias­pora in Ghana Brunch and Learn: Living and Thriving in Ghana, Holiday Sports Jam 2023, Mixed Bag, Images of Conflict (dance), Bride of the Gods (drama), Samini Xperience, Tadifest, Around the World Food and Drinks Festival, A Night of 1030 Laughs and More and Black Wine Festival.

There would also be the Annual All- White Drink Up Party, Volta Fashion Week, Jerk Festival, Sankofa Global Education Expo Ghana, About Beyond The Return and Fraternity.

 Ghana need industry bank to fund talents — Rocky Jigga

 Ghanaian UK-based afrobeat singer, Emmanuel Rocky Gyeniaw Jnr known in entertainment circles as Rocky Jigga has expressed the need for an industry bank to fund talents.

According to him, this will help Gha­naian musicians to compete effectively with their foreign counterparts.

Rocky Jigga believes that many talent­ed musicians have coiled back into their shells due to funding challenges.

“There’s more room for improvement. The industry needs more investors from both the government and private sector at large. We need an industry bank that funds talents, events and everything entertaining,” he said.

Rocky Jigga recently released ‘Slow Down,’ featuring Ball J.

The song which came with its video was produced by B Boat and it empha­sised a man’s preference for an ideal woman irrespective of the size.

 Israel Ofori releases ‘My Everything’ single

Gospel artist, Israel Ofori has released a new single titled ‘My Everything.’

The song is already making waves on various music platforms.

Speaking to The Spectator after the release, he said he was in­spired by the words in Psalm 42 vs 1 “As the deer pants after water brooks, so pants my soul after thee, O God.”

He acknowledges God as his source, and everything, thereby encouraging all Christians and the human race to see God as their source.

In the song, Israel Ofori en­courages Christians and lovers of gospel music to acknowledge God as their source of everything, saying “when you put God first, everything will align in favour.

“As 2025 unfolds it is important for people especially Christians to yearn for God and recognise Him as their source and everything,” adding that the song was timely and will help listeners in their daily walk with God and bring them to a point of surrender.”

The song is available on all dig­ital platforms including Youtube, Boomplay, Spotify, Amazon and Apple music, Deezer and Tidal.
