Diamond International School visits New Times Corp

Diamond International School from Lagos, Nigeria, on Tuesday visited the offices of the New Times Corporation (NTC), publishers of The Spectator and Ghanaian Times newspapers.
The educational visit was to familiarise with the newspaper production and operations of the other departments.
Accompanied by the headmaster of the school, Mr Samuel Dodoo, and other teaching staff, the children visited The Spectator and Ghanaian Times newsrooms as well as the Design Section before fraternising with a couple of staff.
At The Spectator newsroom, the Acting News Editor of the paper, Mr Andrew Nortey, welcomed the staff and students of the school and took them through the processes of production.
He encouraged the students to develop the culture of reading to be abreast with developments across the globe.
“As a journalist, you must read a lot to widen your knowledge base. That would surely make you a good journalist.”
In a bid to test their consciousness on social issues, he engaged the students in a question and answer session about football in Nigeria, asking about names of national teams and players to which they enthusiastically answered.
