Donation at difficult times sign of good friendship -Catholic Priest

The Talensi Youth Association in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis and its environs have donated 20 chairs to Christ the King Catholic Church at Effiakuma in the Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese of the Western Region.
The President of the association, Mr. Baba Akalarke said it was in appreciation of the Parish Priest, Rev Friar Vitus E. Mensah granting them the permission to use the church premises for their monthly meetings.
He said when members came for meetings they sat on chairs provided by the church and these chairs would wear down with time so the donation was the association’s widow’s mite to replace the worn-out chairs with the new ones.
Mr. Akalarke told the Parish Priest that the association was very young but they would continue to support the church in their own small way.
Rev Friar Mensah on behalf of the Friars, the Parish Pastoral Council and the entire Christ the King Family thanked the association for the gesture.
He said not all people showed appreciation in return for kindness or service rendered adding” but as the association has come out on their own volition, we are grateful because this is a gift from your hearts”.
He said anybody who remembered a friend during difficult times in this era of VOVID-19 pandemic was a very good friend and the church would continue to pray for the members of the Talensi Youth Association for it to grow bigger.
