Don’t ‘cheapen’ yourselves for roles- Grace Omaboe tells ladies in movie industry
Veteran actor, Grace Omaboe, affectionately called Maame Dokono has admonished females in the movie industry not to trade themselves for roles and other opportunities.
According to her, cheapening oneself for roles among others would truncate their career and make one regret later in life.
“Don’t make yourself loose and allow people to sleep with you, insist on what you can do,” she advised.
According to her, some men would want to use the ladies to satisfy their sexual pleasures before providing opportunities for them.
“There are some producers and directors who would want to use you before they assign your movie roles, it persisted during our time,” she revealed.
This notwithstanding, she asserted that their world will not come to an end, just because some roles were not offered to them, but they look for other opportunities elsewhere when one door closes.
“Never make yourself cheap for the men,” she concluded.
Maame Dokono is set to launch her autobiography on her 80th birthday slated for September 7, 2024.
