Double rainbow at Kadjebi

Double rainbow

The appearance of a double rainbow generated joy and excitement across the mountain peak of Kadjebi in the Oti Region last week.

It left a number of onlookers mesmerised as they caught a glimpse of the celestial feature that lasted for about 35 minutes.

Double rainbows are formed when sunlight is reflected twice within a raindrop with the violet light that reaches the observer’s eye coming from the higher raindrops and the red light from lower raindrops.

It turned into a field’s day for photographers in the area as spectators rushed to take memorable photographs in the direction of the rainbow.

It attracted both the elderly and children some of who jumped and run to the direction of the double rainbow, hoping to see it at a closer range.

A farmer returning from farm said, it was the closest the spectacle had appeared.

Ms Abigail Amoa, another witness of the double rainbow said sunrise view from the hilltop was always amazing, but this double rainbow view was the first she had sighted.
