Family of stabbed O’Reilly student to sue school for negligence
Enock Sackey, father of stabbed final year student of O’Reilly Senior High, has hinted of an intention to sue the school for negligence.
According to him, the family arrived at the decision because some questions need answers.
“It is the intention of the family to sue the school and hold them responsible for the death of my son,” he said.
Speaking to Citi FM, Mr.Sackey said, they want the school authority to come out and explain why they watched on for such a thing to happen on the school premises.
We want the school authority to come out and explain why such a thing would happen on the school premises without an intervention.
Mr.Sackey said he was called at work that one of his colleagues is fighting him, “so I asked whether there are no teachers at the school, but my niece who was at the scene told me the teachers are not showing any concern so I should rush and come.”
“On my way, I was told that he had been stabbed, lying lifeless and rushed to LEKMA, I rushed there and the doctor told my son had passed,” he revealed.
A tragic incident occurred yesterday, September 2, 2024 at O’Reilly SHS in Accra, where final year student Edward Borketey Sackey was stabbed to death by a fellow student after a heated argument.
