Ghana needs an experienced hand, not a driver’s mate without a licence-John Mahama

The former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), John Dramani Mahama has taken a swipe at the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

During a campaign at Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, the former President said Ghana at this juncture needs an experienced hand to turn the fortunes of the country around, and not a driver’s mate without a licence.

“Where Ghana has reached, we need a sturdy, experienced hand to turn our fortunes around. If you have two buses and have a driver’s mate who has been an apprentice to a driver sitting in one of those buses and you have an experienced driver who has driven you several times to your destination and back, which of those buses will you sit in?,” he queried.

John Mahama noted that in the situation Ghana finds itself, it would be unfortunate to hand over the leadership to an inexperienced driver to manage the affairs.

According to him “The person himself says he’s a driver’s mate he doesn’t have a licence yet, he should work and get a licence first and then after he gets the licence he can come and we will talk,” he concluded.

He therefore charged Ghanaians to vote massively for him to come and better manage the affairs of the country.
