Conscious of the essence of storing water for continuous use, the Unique Course ‘34’ of the Ghana National Fire Service(GNFS) donated a water reservoir to the Fire Academy Training School (FATS) in Accra last week.

The donation was in commemoration of their 20th anniversary celebration in the service and also to address water challenges facing the academy.

The Chairman of the Group, Station Officer (S.O) David Agaga in making the presentation stressed the need to give back to one’s alma mater in support of their activities.

The Station Officer commended the personnel who were enlisted in 2003 for their dedication in nurturing recruits overs the years.

He assured the management of FATS of the Group’s continuous efforts at helping them achieve their mandate.

The Commandant of the FATS, Assistant Chief Fire Officer Grade One(ACFO) I Gilbert Klutse, who received the donation on behalf of the School, commended them for supporting their alma mater after leaving the school twenty years ago.

He said the reservoir would go a long way in supporting the school in its activities, and assured that it would be used for its intended purpose.

“After 20 years of your career, it is refreshing to know you are still in touch and giving back to your alma mater,”he added.

The Commandant urged the personnel to keep up the good work and appealed to other groups to emulate the Course 34 to ensure the school would become a world class training school.

A minute silence was observed for the souls of departed colleagues.
