GTA honours Okyeame Kwame at National Tourism Awards

Decorated Ghanaian rapper Nana, Kwame Nsiah-Apau, has been honoured by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) for his outstanding contribution to tourism in the country over the years.

The event took place last Thursday at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The National Tourism Awards was instituted by the Ghana Tourism Authority in 1997 to reward excellent performance in the tourism sector.

It is one of the flagship events of the GTA and it sets the tone for high standards in service delivery among practitioners in the tourism sector.

On the night stakeholders in the sector including Okyeame Kwame who have worked assiduously in impacting the sector were recognised for their contribution.

The multiple award-winning musician, Okyeame Kwame received an award for Artistic Support to the Tourism Industry.

Expressing his appreciation after winning the award, Okyeame Kwame said “I would like to congratulate myself for working tirelessly on the promotion of tourism, arts and culture in my country.”

He added “ Let me say a very big thank you to Ghana Tourism Authority, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, but especially citizens of the OKWorld (my core fans). This one is dedicated to you.”

The musician has over the years promoted Ghana’s cultural heritage through his music and videos among others.

This has endeared him to many accolades for his selfless and nationalistic drive to create awareness about Ghana.
