I will willingly step down as President on January 7
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has pledged to willingly step down as President of the Republic on January 7, 2025.
Nana Addo said he will do so because he will be in good company of that late Jerry Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor, who in the fourth Republic have been privileged to serve two terms as President of the Republic.
President Akufo-Addo added that it has been the greatest honour of his life to serve as President not once, but twice, ” and I have done my best especially during the times of the pandemic and aftermath.”
“It has been a difficult time, but as you can see, we are turning the corner,” he added.
According to him, the last major challenge for him is to preside over peaceful elections in December, adding that to him that’s the commitment and with the support of Ghanaians, it is achieveable.
“The people of Ghana deserve the best,” he concluded.
