‘King of Dreadlocks’ Mekesh grabs chieftaincy title

Ghanaian Businessman, Michael Ayikwei Afutu, says he will continue to support the youth acquire employable skills and help preserve the Ga heritage, following his enthronement as Chief of Asere-Kronaa We of Ga Mashie in the Greater Accra Region.
Mr. Afutu, who now goes by the title Nii Kl4tia Ayikwei Tutu Alangml1, was crowned last Saturday at Akoto Lante after kingmakers had performed the necessary rituals and made him swear the traditional oath in the presence of family members and witnesses at the Stool House.
It was ecstatic moment as guests, dressed in white outfit, sang appellations amidst drumming and firing of muskets. Elders who supervised the ceremony said the coronation was happening after similar rites and consultations had been done the previous day.
Swearing the oath, Nii Kl4tia Ayikwei Tutu Alangml1 pledged to defend the stool, ensure unity and diligently serve the people he has been tasked to lead.
Speaking to The Spectator after the ceremony, he said he had always wanted to take up additional responsibilities and contribute his quota to development in his locality.
“I have always prayed to God to give me the strength to do things that impact the lives of people positively and I consider my coronation a privileged to champion this cause,” he said.
Having been in business since 1990, Mr. Michael Ayikwei Afutu popularly called “Mikesh”, is the founder of Mikesh Global Limited, an indigenous company providing hair care solutions to clients in Ghana and other African countries.
The ‘King of Dreadlocks’ has over the years trained hundreds of youth in the techniques of grooming and providing quality services for people who love their natural hair. He has developed a wide range of natural hair care products which are available on the market.
