Limitation on churches and mosques to be lifted from August 1, but…
President Akufo-Addo has disclosed that limitation on churches and mosques restricting aspects of their services would be lifted by August 1.
According to the President, this was in consultation with the leadership of these groups.
Speaking at the 14th address to the nation since the outbreak of COVID-19, President Akuffo-Addo said, “In consultation with the leadership, from August 1, the limitation on the number of congregation worshipping at a time will be lifted.”
He added that the length of worship, would be extended from one to two hours per service.
President Akufo-Addo called on Church leaders who are desirous of implementing this enhanced easing directive to ensure congregants wear their face masks at all times and observe one metre social distancing rule.
He also encouraged churches and mosques to resort to the use of fresh air to ventilate their auditoriums rather than relying on air-conditioners
