Medeama host Horoya in Champions League
Abdul Fatawu Hamidu-Medeama SC
Medeama SC will play Guinean champions, Horoya Athletic Club, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium tomorrow in a second round first leg CAF Champions League qualifier at 3pm.
Medeama SC edged Nigeria side, Remo Stars, 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate draw in regular time to book qualification.
Horoya, known for their consistent appearances at the group stages of the competition drew a bye in the first round and would now face the Tarkwa-based club for a slot at the group stage of this year’s competition.
Medeama SC has since been in camp in Cape Coast ahead of tomorrow’s tie, but would be without inspirational skipper, Vincent Atinga Addae.
However, they would welcome back into their fold Black Stars duo, Jonathan Sowah and Fatawu Hamidu, who featured in the friendly against the Lone Stars of Liberia on Tuesday in Accra.
Medeama SC will travel to Conakry for the return leg of September 29 at the Stade du 28 Septembre.
