Miss Golden Stool Season 5 commences with mind-blowing display from contestants
16 contestants of the Miss Golden Stool beauty pageant commenced their journey in style on Sunday during the first show for this season.
The contestants namely Osa, Oseikrom, Ababio, Darkowaa, Amoakowaa, Akua, Osika, Frimpongmaa, Appiawaa, Agyakowaa, Awura, Afia, Animounyam, Nana, Antwiwaa and Araba proved why viewers should vote for them by exquisitely showcasing the Akan culture to the world.
All of the contestants told the story of the various Naming Ceremonies amongst Akan communities such as Sefwi, Mampong,Akuapem Lartey, Twifo Atimokwa, Kwahu Nkwatia, Agona and Aowin among others.
The judges made their comments and observations based on how the contestants told the naming ceremony stories in diverse ways.
They were particular about audience engagement, paying attention to details and true representation of cultural heritage.
The display on the night gave credence to what the brain behind the pageant, Sally Akua Amoakowaa said during the launch of the 5th edition.
According to her, patrons should expect something different, adding that there has been some fortification and adjustments to what was done last year.
“Expect something different in the eight weeks of fully packed actions. Each week will be something different with well-researched topics,” she added.
