Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong honoured

Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong, a multiple award-winning media practitioner and an accomplished entrepreneur, has been honoured at the 2020 Forty Under 40 Awards event held last weekend in recognition of her excellent Consultancy Services.
Her honour was under the category of Consultancy and Professional Service.
The 2020 Forty under 40 Award scheme announced its winners on Friday, September 25, at the plush Kempinski Hotel, Accra.
The award scheme organised by X-odus communications was aimed at identifying and honouring a cross-section of the nation’s most influential and accomplished young business fellows under the age 40, who were making impact in the industry they operated.
It also sought to place emphasis on these individuals’ impeccable results through commitment to business growth, professional excellence and community service.
Nana Yaa dedicated her award to all those who have contributed to her journey of excellence in media and entrepreneurship including her esteemed clients.
According to her, one could achieve anything on earth once he or she believed in his or her dream and took that bold step which brings it all into fruition.
Her long and distinguished career in television started back in 1999 with Fontonfrom TV. The astute media professional is multi-talented, highly skilled, and for 21 years of her media career, had been passionate about using entrepreneurial approach to manage the brands in her care to achieve sustainable and profitable results.
During her media career, she oversaw the set up, design and management of several TV stations including all three Crystal TV Channels, Multimedia Group’s Cine Afrik, 4kids and The Jesus Channel as well as Joy Prime Channel which she set up and managed until September 2019.
Nana Yaa continues in her media leadership and entrepreneurship stride through industry consultancy. Nana Yaa’s journey in entrepreneurship started in 2007 and spans numerous business investments in fashion, marketing, FMCG, Telecom, etc.
As an accomplished entrepreneur, Nana Yaa is a firm believer, that when you make room for the good stuff, great stuff would come in abundance. She is the owner and CEO of the front line business and consulting firm, Elohay Group which specialises in Marketing, PR, Branding & Advertising among others.
As founder of the NGO, League of Extraordinary Women, Nana Yaa leads an incubation programme that nurtures the youth and women through enriched development programme that offer insights on business, entrepreneurship and coping with life’s challenges.
Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong holds a BSC. Business Administration Degree from the University of Ghana Business School, Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from CIM UK and an MBA International Trade from Anhalt University, Germany and GTUC, Ghana. Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong is currently pursuing LLB Laws Degree.

Since its inception as part of Rhythms on the Runway in 2019 during Ghana’s historic Year of Return celebration, the Black Star Legacy Awards has recognized remarkable achievements in creative arts, culture, and beyond.

It has always been a component of ‘Rhythms On Da Runway,’ however, the organisers have decided to stage it as an independent event this year.

This shift allows for an expanded focus, honouring excellence across various fields, including business, leadership, innovation, science, and humanitarian efforts.

This bold move aligns with the awards’ mission of celebrating the spirit of achievement and innovation that defines Ghana and connects it to the broader Pan-African and global community.

Esteemed icons from Ghana, Africa and the African Diay such as Obrafour, Ricci Osei, Hon. Lisa Hanna, Reggie Rockstone, Queen Asabea Cropper, Nene Agyemang, Agya Koo Nimo, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Morgan Heritage, Stonebwoy, and Richard Mofe Damijo have been among the honorees, setting the stage for what has become a highly anticipated annual celebration of excellence.

Zhikay Junior launches ‘The mind shift campaign’

Ghanaian award winning gospel blogger Isaac Nartey, popularly known as Zhikay Ike Junior, and his team have launched a campaign at Sap’s School in Teshie-Nungua, located in the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra region.

Themed ‘The mind shift campaign’, it was aimed to touch the lives of students by educating them on the use of social media and how it can impact lives.

Isaac Nartey, told The Spectator that the purpose of the campaign was to orient students in Ghana about social media and its impact.

Sharing photos from the campaign on Facebook, Zhikay also emphasised the importance of listening to children’s concerns, which include mental health, emotions, and societal acceptance.

“We must not consider children as just minors, they have genuine concerns that revolve around mental health, emotions, societal acceptance and others. We must create avenues for their voice to be heard,” He explained

The campaign included education, games, and entertainment. Some students received customized ‘Zhikay’ items as rewards for their hard work.

This initiative seems to be made a positive impact on the students.

‘The school tour will delve into the overview of social media and how it can be used to impact society positively,’ he added

Zhikay embarked on the tour with popular Ghanaian content creators such as “Freedom Official” and “Quecy Official.” Together, they created an educational and engaging atmosphere for the students.
