No death, injury recorded in firefighting at Tema
The Tema Regional Fire Office of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) did not record any death or injury of personnel on any fire ground last year.
This included no direct or indirect death related to fire fighting. The Regional Fire Officer, Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Angelina Annan disclosed this at an end of year get-together.
She said that the safety of personnel was paramount and GNFS would put measures in place to guarantee their safety as well as Ghanaians in the event of fire outbreak.
The event held on the premises of the Regional Office aimed at coming together to reflect on the past, planning for the future, and encouraging the personnel to give of their best in the years ahead.
DCFO Annan said the contributions of personnel had been enormous and enjoyed working with them in an atmosphere of peace and cordiality.
She said the success of the GNFS was hinged on the efforts of all in the discharge of their duties especially fire fighting and, therefore, none of them should feel that his or her contribution was insignificant or of no value.
She expressed appreciation to the personnel for their dedication despite the Coronavirus pandemic but was quick to ask that they should continue to work assiduously and bring out the best in them for the benefit of the country.
