On Thursday, August 15, 2024, President Akufo-Addo commissioned the rehabilitated and refurbished Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility that symbolizes Government’s unwavering commitment to providing quality healthcare for every Ghanaian.
This modern hospital, equipped with advanced medical infrastructure including a new mothers’ hostel, staff accommodation, and a cutting-edge medical gas building, is poised to meet the growing healthcare needs of the Upper East Region.
Speaking at the ceremony to unveil it yesterday, the President extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Saudi Government for their generous support through a $52 million concessional loan from the Saudi Fund for Development.
He said, this vital partnership has been instrumental in transforming the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital into a centre of excellence, reflecting the strong and fruitful relationship between our two countries.
“Throughout my administration, we have made significant strides in the health sector, including the recruitment of over 202,000 healthcare professionals, revitalizing the National Health Insurance Scheme, and expanding our hospital infrastructure nationwide,” he stated.
“As we celebrate the commissioning of this hospital, I encourage the community to take pride in this achievement and work together to ensure its continued success, as we strive to build a healthier and stronger Ghana for all,” he concluded.
