 The much-anticipated 2025 U-15 girls’ soccer gala took centre stage at the Kulikuli School Astro Turf in Tamale last Saturday, drawing 10 competitive clubs from across the region for a day filled with skill, passion, and determination.

The tournament served as a crucial preparatory event for the upcoming Northern Regional Football Association U-15 Girls’ Soccer Tournament, allowing teams to assess their strengths and weakness ahead of the main competition.

After a series of intense matches, Rising Sporting Club (RC) emerged victorious, defeating Dinnani Ladies in a dramatic penalty shootout after a goalless draw in the final.

The match was tightly contested, with both teams displaying excellent tactical discipline and resilience. However, Rising SC held their nerve during the penalties, securing a well-deserved triumph.

The event was graced by the Northern Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Abu Hassan Mahamadu, who commended the young girls for their commitment and urged them to take their football careers seriously.

With this victory, Rising SC has sent a strong message to their competitors, establishing themselves as one of the top teams to watch in the upcoming Northern Regional U-15 girls’ soccer tournament

Black Starlets technical team arrive in Wa to wrap up Northern sector screening exercise

The Black Starlets’ technical team, led by Coach Stephen Frimpong Manso, has arrived in Wa, Upper West Region, for the final leg of their Northern sector scouting exercise. 

This initiative aims to identify talented young players born after January 1, 2009, from across the region.

The scouting exercise, scheduled for Friday at the Youth Centre in Wa, will assess players from the Upper West Region. 

Previously, the team conducted screenings in Bolgatanga, starting with players from the GFA Elite Academy and various clubs in the region.

The screening process involved a training match between selected players from the academy and club sides, ultimately leading to the selection of top prospects for the U17 National team’s pool of players.

This scouting exercise is part of the Ghana Football Association’s efforts to develop the next generation of players for the Black Starlets.

The Northern sector screening exercise, which began in Sunyani, has already made stops in Goaso, Techiman, Tamale, and Winkogo in the Upper East Region.

In a bid to enhance Safety and Security, the Ghana Football Association has organized a training workshop for top officials of clubs competing in the Access Bank Division One League.

 The workshop, held on Monday, February 24, 2025, aimed to educate participants on implementing Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols.

Key topics covered during the workshop included:

Effective Implementation: Ensuring the successful execution of Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols.

Roles and Responsibilities: Clarifying the duties of clubs, management, and safety and security officers.

Code of Conduct: Educating fans, coaches, players, and staff on best practices and expected behavior.

Compliance and Enforcement: Understanding the compliance regime, enforcement processes, and collaboration with match officials and security personnel.

The workshop’s primary objective was to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to create a safe and secure environment for matches.
