Things Are Walking Over Us —Part 2
The awareness that we have power to exercise dominion, is what enable us to walk over things instead of things walking over us.
The Bible tells us that it was Adam, our great, great grandfather who named things that God created on this earth. The wild animals were in existence together with man in the Garden of Eden but not a single one of them thought of harming Adam or Eve, until the Old Serpent, the Devil, initiated a coup in Heaven by craftily deceiving man and man disobeyed God and as a result lost his authority to exercise dominion.
That was when things began to walk over man. God took away the complete authority that he had given to man to exercise dominion so man became like any of the created things.
Fear has taken the place of boldness and man realised that the creatures no longer respected his authority. Instead of living forever like God, that was replaced with a definite life span; death now being part if man’s life.
Man’s body became susceptible to sicknesses and diseases and a whole lot of priviledges that were at the disposal of man, were suddenly unavailable. The supernatural status gave way to the natural with all its limitations. Man was no longer in charge of the earth and the happenings in it.
God however being God, knew ahead of time what was going to happen in the future so he had already initiated a plan to restore man to his original state, as he was, in the Garden of Eden.
He therefore sent his only beloved son to die in the stead of man and through that restore man to his original state. He was the person that that King Nebuchadnezzar referred to as the fourth man that he saw being in the fiery furnace in which the three Jewish young men were thrown.
When a person receives him as his Lord and saviour, he attains a righteousness status and automatic access is granted him to the power of God. It is this power that enables a person to take charge of things and is able to overcome challenges of life.
It require awareness of who one is in Christ for a person to take charge and walk over issues of life. A Pastor shared a testimony of what happened when he took charge and exercised his authority as a child of God.
According to his narrative, there was a town that a lot of accidents used to occur and it was attributed to a spirit that late in the night it comes to pass through the town with a loud noise with the ground shaking.
He was told this and so he decided that they will pray against that spirit. During an all night prayer late in the night, they heard a strange noise approaching the town and the members said Pastor that is the spirit we told you about, it is coming.”
The Pastor told them that I am a Child of God and the spirit of God which is powerful than any spirit dwells within me so I am going to stand in the road and to prevent that spirit from coming to pass through the town.
He moved from the church auditorium which was by the road side and went and stood in the middle of the road and started praying.
He said the noise was growing louder and the ground was shaking and he started making a declaration commanding the spirit to go back to wherever it was coming from.
Suddenly the noise was going back away from the town and was getting lower and lower and then they could not hear it anymore. This is a child of a richman who is aware of his authority over a househelp despite his age and exercising it.
Until we become aware that greater is the one who lives in us than the devil who is in the world according to 1 John 4:4, things will continue to walk over us. Not only will things walk over us but we shall become vulnerable to unscrupulous men and women who claim they have been called by God by phone or voice or talking drums, only they can tell.
