We are demonstrating on behalf of all Ghanaians including Ghana Police- Sam George

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament(MP) for the people of Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey George has said that the minority is demonstrating on behalf of all Ghanaians including the Ghana Police Service.
The Minority has mobilised thousands of Ghanaians onto the streets of Accra today for their #OccupyBOGDemonstration.
Addressing a charged atmosphere, Sam George, this protest aimed at expressing disappointment at the Central Bank for mismanaging the country’s finances is for all Ghanaians including the police.
“Let me just announce that this demonstration we are doing, we are doing on behalf of all Ghanaians including the Ghana Police Service, we are not here to fight with the police, because the police go to the same market with us,” he said.
According to him, “We know that because of their uniforms, they can’t join the demonstration, even in their uniform today, they are also wearing black, so we are demonstrating with them.”
The MP went further to state that “we are asking them to work peacefully with us and we will work peacefully with them and so it is a peaceful demonstration, there will be no violence.
This protest follows the Central Bank’s loss of GH¢60.81 billion in the 2022 fiscal year and the use of over $250 million for the construction of a new headquarters at North Ridge.
