7Great Princes school to hold sports festival
The Seven Great Princes Academy schools in Dansoman and Lartebiorkorshie will hold a four day sports festival at the El-Wak Sports Stadium and the Dansoman branch of the school.
The competition will be held on February 6-9.
Participants will compete in five disciplines, namely Fill-in-the-bottle, spoon and lime, sack race, tug-of-war, musical chairs, table tennis, basketball and Scrabble.
The competition will, however, start at the El-Wak Sports Stadium with football and athletics featuring boys and girls soccer competition while athletes compete in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4x100m and 4x400m races.
Mr Theophilus Armah, Director of sports at the school, explained that basketball and table tennis will also feature prominently at the Dansoman campus of the school.
Accordig to him, “We are looking at starting the year with sports to make the students fit and healthy.”
Through that, he hoped talents would be fished out for the national cause.
He added that the event will also be an occasion to celebrate the upcoming African Games to be hosted by Ghana in March.
“Awards , trophies, and certificates will be awarded to deserving winners,” he stated.
The competition which is an annual event will see El-Wak Stadium hosting the first two days , while the Dansoman branch of the school hosts the remaining two days.

GPL Voilent Disturbances: Police arrest two more suspects
The Ghana Police Service has arrested two more suspects in connection with the violent disturbances that occurred during the football match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC
The suspects, Isaac Ofosu and Yeboah Augustine are currently in Police
custody assisting in the ongoing investigation.
This brings to five (5) the number of suspects so far arrested in connection with
the incident, which occurred on February 2, 2025, at Nsoatre in the Bono
Region.
An Intelligence-led operation is still ongoing to get the rest of the perpetrators
arrested to face justice.
