Accra Medic season 2 goes live on Akwaaba Magic

Season 2 of local telenovela, Accra Medic series has premiered with a call on Ghanaians to patronise products made in the country.
Accra Medic is an evocative medical drama series that explores the health inequity and disparity in the Ghanaian Medical system.
It follows the lives of the staff at an Accra hospital, as they navigate the challenges of their lives while saving patients in a hospital that is suffering from mismanagement in a country with an ailing healthcare system.
The 26 episodes for 13 weeks which will be shown at 8:30pm on Wednesdays Akwaaba Magic unveiled what transpires at the various departments of the hospital.
Speaking at the premiere on Tuesday, January 17, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), Mr. Alex Okyere, Managing Director of MultiChoice Ghana, in his address said, aside Dede, Eno and Inspector Bediako series on their platforms, Accra Medic is the most watched show on Akwaaba Magic and believe with this new season, the numbers would even increase.
He said there is a reawakening of the Ghanaian movie industry and with the blessing of the National Film Authority, they will commission more Ghanaian shows that resonate with their audience.
Mr. Okyere expressed his appreciation to the University of Ghana Medical Centre and the entire staff for supporting the production, and encouraged Ghanaians to continue to enjoy their rich local contents.
The Directors of the series, Mr Emmanuel Apea Jnr and Julia Apea said with his decades of experience it was more relaxing shooting at UGMC because they gave them full access and the medical processes were real, because they allowed them to use their facilities.
According to them, Ghana is blessed with wonderful actors and professionals in the industry who can deliver and be as profitable as Hollywood with the necessary support.
They expressed appreciation to all those who played a role in the production of the series and urged Ghanaians to continuously enjoy local production on Akwaaba Magic.
The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of UGMC, Dr. Darius Osei, said allowing their premises to be used was a way to help patients and the public to appreciate what goes into healthcare delivery, and the facilities available at UGMC.
He called for further collaborations to improve on healthcare delivery in the country.

Prophet Atarah opens new studio, launches Atarah Praise 2025

Prophet Joseph Atarah has launched his annual event aimed at bringing believers together in an atmosphere of worship and praise.
The theme for this edition is ‘Restoration’ with the belief that patrons would be restored in the face of their challenges.
The programme will be in two parts, with the first scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom at 5pm on May 11, at Pleasant Place Church.
The Ghana edition will take place at the forecourt of Believer’s Grace Crown Ministry International, Bond Square, Adenta Barrier, at 4pm on May 25.
Prophet Atarah has paraded Piesie Esther, Kofi Owusu Peprah, Nana Yaw Asare and Mavis Asante among others for the Ghana edition.
For the UK edition, patrons will enjoy performances from Kofi Owusu Peprah, Kobby Mantey, Emmanuel Smith, and Ern Ruthy.
Speaking at the launch, Prophet Atarah said, God has been good throughout last year, and 2025 has started on a positive note.
Against this backdrop, he wants to bring believers together and, in unity, to praise God.
He said, like what happened last year, a lot of miracles will take place.
In a related development, Prophet Atarah also commissioned a new studio for rehearsals and live recordings.
This, he said, was not limited to him, but open to every musician across all genres.

Empress Gifty to thrill patrons at MTN Stands In Worship on Easter Sunday

Ghanaian gospel heavyweight, Empress Gifty is set to thrill thousands at this year’s MTN Stands In Worship event.
The programme brings believers together annually to celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ.
This year’s edition, slated for the Grand Arena on Sunday, April 20, will feature Empress Gifty.
Against this backdrop, the anointed gospel musician has urged all patrons to come with a heart of worship and praise.
She is optimistic that a lot of miracles will happen through the ministration.
“Through our ministrations instant miracles will happen and you are going to have an encounter with God,” she told The Spectator.
Empress Gifty again appealed to patrons not to come alone, but with their families and friends to receive blessings.
Empress Gifty, who had a big song dubbed Watch Me, has been nominated in the Best Traditional Gospel Song of the Year and Gospel Artiste of the Year categories at this year’s 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
