Afua awaits GWR validation of sing-a-thon evidence

Afua Asantewaa Owusu Aduo­num, the Ghanaian lady who attempted to break the Guinness World Records (GWR) for the longest singing marathon by an individual, has officially submitted evidence of her attempt to the world body for valida­tion.

Mrs Asantewaa Aduonum disclosed this to the Spectator Agoro in an interview.

According to her, she and her team have duly submitted the video evi­dence last Saturday for review and confirmation.

She had also submitted other requirements, including her media engagements before the attempt and other essentials ahead of the event.

Mrs Aduonum says she was hopeful of a positive response from the world body in the coming days.

The 33-year-old Asantewaa in her at­tempt to break the GWR, sang for 126 hours and 52 minutes, surpassing the pre­vious record of 105 hours set by Indian Sunil Waghmare in 2012.

Her six-day attempt which started on December 23 was the toast of the Christmas festivities, attracting huge patronage and support from Ghana­ians.

 Miss Ghana 2025 finalists unveiled

 The talented 16 contestants have been unveiled at a grand ceremony held at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra last Saturday.

These finalists made the cut following gruelling auditions in No­vember 2024, where young women from across the country show­cased their beauty, intelligence, and passion for service.

According to the organisers, the search is for a queen who exem­plifies selflessness, intelligence, discipline, and dedication to soci­etal service.

The contestants will go through calculated weekly tasks ahead of the highly anticipated grand finale on March 29, 2025.

Each contestant will now rep­resent their respective regions as they compete for the prestigious Miss Ghana 2025 crown.

Organised by Exclusive Events Ghana and Miss Ghana Foundation, the Miss Ghana pageant is more than just a beauty competition.

As part of the modalities, the winner will not only represent Ghana on the global stage at Miss World but will also lead charitable initiatives under the Miss Ghana Foundation, focusing on support­ing vulnerable communities.

The contestants expressed their readiness to prove their mettle in the competition for the ultimate.
