Amanfour 1999 presents bungalow, water tank to alma mater
A three-bedroom bungalow plus a 225,000 litre polytank have been handed over to the Prempeh College to reduce accommodation problems of teachers.
The gesture was from the 1999 year group of the school at a cost of GH¢1,400,000.00.
Mr Michael Nketiah, president of the 1999 year group, explained that the gesture was part of activities to mark the silver jubilee of the school with legacy projects to enhance teaching and learning on campus.
Speaking at the commissioning and handing over ceremony of the facility, he stated that they have embarked on a mentorship programme with carrier experts to help current students in looking into the future.
He urged members to recommit to the values that defined them, and be a beacon of inspirations to the young generation to also lead and serve with the same zeal that has brought them that far.
Very Rev. Louis Asare, Headmaster of the school, expressed profound gratitude to the group for the laudable initiative to absorb the accommodations problems facing the school.
He said the school boast of about 4,608 students with 203 teachers and only 32 teachers have accommodation on campus, which could be a risk to the management and security of the students.
The building and the water facility, he said, have come at the right time and urged the current students to take keen interest in what their seniors have done by emulating the shining example to also give back to the school after they left.
