Cartel Foundation organises walk to promote the health of Mamprobi residents 

The Cartel Foundation, a non-governmental and philanthropic arm of Cartel Group of Companies, at the weekend organised a health walk at Mamprobi to promote healthy and good health practices among the residents.

The three-hour event on the theme “Community Healthcare, A Responsibility for all Stakeholders” started from the Mamprobi Post Office through Accra Central, Bank of Ghana area and ended at the Mamprobi Girls Schools.

About 1500 residents of Mamprobi in the Ablekuma South Municipality, representatives of business and companies in the community and people from all walks of life took part in the health walk.

Amidst singing and dancing, a number of activities including exercise, aerobics and eating of fruits characterised the exercise of the ten-kilometer walk.

The exercise was supported by Ghanaian Times and other media partners.

Speaking to reporters after the health walk, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Cartel Group of Companies, Mr Henry Harry Owoo, said the exercise formed part of the Corporate Social Investment of the Cartel Foundation.

He said this year’s health was the third to be organised by the Cartel Foundation.

Mr Owoo said the Cartel Foundation was concerned about the good health of the residents of Mamprobi, hence the programme.

The CEO of the Cartel Group of Companies advised the residents to avoid acts which would affect their health such as eating too much meat.

He urged the residents to exercise regularly and eat a lot of fruits and drink a lot of water.

Mr Owoo said the Cartel Foundation would continue to organise such programme to educate the public and healthy lifestyle and good living practices.

The Assemblyman for the Mamprobi Electoral Area Henry Adotey Brown who took part in the walk, in an interview commended Cartel Foundation for organising the walk.

He said good health and sanitation were issues he had been championing since became an Assemblyman for the Mamprobi Electoral Area and was happy the Cartel Foundation was helping promote those causes.

Some of the participants who spoke in an interview with the Ghanaian Times commended Cartel Foundation for organising the programme.

According to them, the programme had given them the opportunity to exercise and keep fit.
