Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies arrive in Accra on Saturday

Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC will arrive in Accra on Saturday, September 2 after clinching Gold at the third edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifiers in Nigeria.

The team will depart Lagos at 8:30pm in Nigeria and arrive at terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport at 8:30pm (Ghana Time).

The Ghanaian Champions were unbeaten in the entire competition keeping a winning run from the Group stage through to the final.

A first half goal from striker Ophelia Amponsah ensured the Ghanaian champions sealed qualification to the main Champions League tournament in Ivory Coast in November.

Scout training to uncover Ghana’s next football stars underway at Prampram

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commenced a five-day training program for scouts from the five southern sector regions of Ghana, namely Greater Accra, Central, Western, Eastern, and Volta.

The programme, which kicked off on February 3, aims to equip scouts with basic scouting principles, profiles, and report writing skills, among other essential tools. 

The training course is being held at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.

A team of experienced instructors, led by Prof. Joseph K. Mintah, Technical Director of the GFA, is facilitating the training program. Other instructors include Desmond Ofei, Director of Coaching Education; Joseph Tetteh-Zutah, Elite Academy Manager; Papa Nii Lartey, Head of Talent Identification and Development; Edward Acheampong; and Fataw Salifu, Scouts Manager.

The training programme is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of scouts, enabling them to identify and develop young talents in their respective regions. By investing in the development of scouts, the GFA aims to strengthen the foundation of Ghanaian football and uncover the next generation of stars.

The programme will run until February 7, and participants are expected to return to their regions equipped with the expertise and confidence to make a positive impact on the development of football in Ghana.

GPL Voilent Disturbances: Police arrest two more suspects

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two more suspects in connection with the violent disturbances that occurred during the football match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC

The suspects, Isaac Ofosu and Yeboah Augustine are currently in Police

custody assisting in the ongoing investigation.

This brings to five (5) the number of suspects so far arrested in connection with

the incident, which occurred on  February 2, 2025, at Nsoatre in the Bono

Region.

An Intelligence-led operation is still ongoing to get the rest of the perpetrators

arrested to face justice.
