GFA receives South Africa 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Bidding Committee Chair in Accra

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received with warmth a delegation from the South African Football Association (SAFA) on a working visit to deliberate and solicit for Ghana’s support for SAFA’s bid to host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Chairperson of the South African bid for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Tumi Dlamini and Advisor, Dr. Misheck Mituze were received at the GFA Secretariat by General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq.
Also present were Chairman of the GFA Club Licensing Board Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, a Member of the Club Licensing Board, Mike Bonsu, GFA Chief Finance Officer, Collins Dei, Director of Legal, Marian Sewaah Mensah, Club Licensing Manager, Julius Ben Emunah and Women’s Football lead at the Communications Department, Matilda Dimedo.
General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo welcomed the South Africa delegation saying both countries have always shared cordial relationship even beyond football and the GFA is ever ready to endorse and further assist South Africa in any regard.

Hohoe United stage massive comeback in 3-2 win against Akatsi All Stars in Zone Three

League leaders Hohoe United came from behind to defeat Akatsi All Stars in a scintillating 3-2 victory at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday.
John Ocansey netted a brace in the 11th and 39th minute for Akatsi All Stars but Faruk Mohammed pulled one back from the spot in the 42nd minute for Hohoe United by halftime.
Djanfarou Mumuni made it 2-2 for Hohoe United in the 68th minute before William Oduro scored the winning goal for the home side in stoppage time. William Oduro of Hohoe United was named player of the match.
Kings Palaces 1-1 Great Olympics
Former Premier League side Great Olympics were held to a 1-1 draw at Kings Palaces on Sunday. Isaac Mensah scored first for Great Olympics in the third minute, while Atadana Edward Kwame leveled matters for Kings Palaces in the 49th minute. Great Olympics currently occupy the second position in the table with 32 points.
Home Stars 1-0 Okwawu United
Home Stars secured their third home victory this season, defeating former Premier League side Okwawu United 1-0 at the Ho Sports Stadium. Ronald Numenya’s early goal in the 7th minute sealed the win for Home Stars.

Swedru All Blacks record 4-0 victory against Eleven Wise, Rospak pip Future Stars in Zone Two

Swedru All Blacks have opened up a four-point lead at the top of the table in Zone Two after trouncing Sekondi Eleven Wise 4-0 on Sunday. Oscar Mensah and Solomon Ayikabea scored in the first half to give Swedru All Blacks a 2-0 lead at halftime.
After the interval, Rudolf Mensah sealed the win with a brace in the 80th and 91st minutes.
Elsewhere, second placed Sekondi Rospak FC secured a narrow 1-0 win over Future Stars at the Akoon Park. Joseph Ntow Mensah scored the decisive goal in the 45th minute, moving Sekondi Rospak FC to second place with 35 points.
Meanwhile UCC Youngsters snapped their three-game losing streak with a 2-0 away victory over Asekem FC at the Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong Stadium. Bernard Ababio scored the opening goal in the 11th minute before Isaac Mensah added the second goal inside 92 minutes.
