Swedru All Blacks hold firm, Rospak SC closes gap with thrashing of Ebusua Dwarfs
Swedru All Blacks maintained their advantage on top of the Zone Two league table with a crucial 2-1 win at Bekwai Heroes.
Rudolf Mensah scored the first goal for Swedru All Blacks in the 27th minute, (his 19th goal of the season), but Michael Owusu responded with a lovely goal in the 47th minute for Bekwai Heroes, while Ernest Ofori netted a stunner in the 68th minute to help Swedru All Blacks grab all the spoils.
The Ozii Ozaa lads are on top of the table in Zone Two with 51 points – one point ahead of second place Sekondi Rospak FC.
Sekondi Rospak SC’s league title hopes received a huge boost with a 3-1 win against former Premier League side Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs at Akoon Park on Sunday.
John Amoah gave Sekondi Rospak SC an early lead just three minutes after kickoff, while Osman Assan made it 2-0 in the 42nd minute, followed by Kwabena Boakye’s long-range strike before halftime.
After the break, Hafiz Alhassan scored a consolation goal for the visitors, Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs, in the 59th minute. Sekondi Rospak SC is currently second in the table with 50 points, just one point behind leaders Swedru All Blacks.
Soccer Intellectuals ended PAC Academy’s six-game unbeaten streak with a hard-fought 2-1 victory at the Senya Astro Turf. Robert Duncan scored the first goal for Soccer Intellectuals in the 20th minute, while Akwesi Mensah made it 1-1 for PAC Academy in the 45th minute, before Nana Abakah netted the match-winner for Soccer Intellectuals. Soccer Intellectuals are currently 5th in the league table with 32 points.

Kim Lars Bjorkegren happy with team’s success against Senegal
The Black Queens recorded a 1-0 win over the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal in an international friendly on Saturday at the Stade Lat-Dior in Thies, Dakar.
The team started strongly, controlling possession and playing with confidence in the opening minutes, which resulted in the winning goal. After the encounter, here is a summary of what Head Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren shared with GFA Communications.
On the Win
Of course, in professional football, you’re always happy when you win. For us, there was one main aim: to win the game. I would say that in the first 30 minutes, we were able to score a beautiful goal, exactly how we wanted to play, with a perfect cross. And Evelyn scored with a great header from a number 10 position. I think we started the game pretty well.
On the Senegalese
We knew before the game that it was going to be a tough game for us, a tough away game. We knew Senegal could be physical, and I felt the start was pretty good.
On what transpired at the break
I felt that towards the end of the first half, we were adapting to their physical style, with more stops and a more Senegal-like way of playing. We actually discussed this at halftime, noting that we needed to play football on the ground and move the ball a little faster. However, we didn’t, and early in the second half, we received a red card. When we did, it completely changed the game. From that point on, it was a completely different game.
On the general performance of the team
I think we have a good team. Many of the players are big and strong, and they play physical football. I feel that it’s always difficult to compare two different styles. I believe we’re the better team when the ball is on the ground, but when the ball goes up in the air and the game becomes more physical, it’s a close match.
Ghana and Senegal will face off again on Tuesday as part of our nine-day training tour organized by the Ghana Football Association.

Black Queens seek second win against Teranga Lionesses on Tuesday
The Black Queens are set to face off against Senegal’s Teranga Lionesses for the second time in an international friendly on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
This match is part of their nine-day training tour in Senegal, aimed at preparing the team for the upcoming Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
In their first encounter, the Black Queens secured a 1-0 win over Senegal, courtesy of Evelyn Badu’s header. Despite being reduced to ten players after Anasthesia Achiaa’s red card, the team managed to hold on for the win.
Head Coach Kim Lars Björkegren expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, highlighting their strong start and adaptability.
The second match promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams looking to gain an edge in their preparations for the WAFCON tournament.
This fixture is scheduled for Stade Lat-Dior in Thies, Senegal at 5pm (GMT).
