Youth urged to acquire skills training for future opportunities

Apostle Ohenekess
The Head Pastor and Founder of Dunamis Word Mission International Church at Fiapre, near Sunyani in the Bono Region, Dr Richard Ohenekess, has asked the youth to prioritise skills acquisition and training to be ready for opportunities that may come their way.
He said it was wrong for young people to be consumed by the desire to acquire money or wealth at all cost.
“The youth must rather be focused on building their capacities to take their future in their own hands.”
He gave the advice in his sermon during the Sunday service.
Apostle Ohenekess said money and material things can only come when the youth eschew laziness and work very hard in whatever venture they find themselves in.
The Head Pastor noted that introduction and acceptance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has in a way reduced job opportunities with one person performing the functions of about three people in the pre- ICT era.
That, he said should be a cause for concern for the teeming youth to strive to attain skills training to meet the demands of the modern job market or become entrepreneurs.
“Institutions and organisations are no longer looking for just anyone with academic qualifications.
They’re now searching for people with special skills and talent coupled with an ability to perform.”
“Your skills and ability to deliver would set you apart from others. You must demonstrate your capacity and ability to deliver in a certain specialty and that would open several doors for you, “he emphasised.
Apostle Ohenekess quoted the scriptures from 1 Samuel 16:14, Exodus 35:35, and Proverbs 22:29 to buttress his claim.
He expressed regret that graduates nowadays have refused to sacrifice a little for a better tomorrow, thinking it is a waste of their time but that period, he noted could be an avenue for their breakthrough.
