Diana Hopeson is out with “Up North” EP
Former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Diana Hopeson has successfully inaugurated her much anticipated “Up North” EP on Thursday,April15, 2021, at Meaglant Hotel, Accra.
Addressing the event which was also aired live on facebook, she stated that “Up North”was to reach people in the north with songs of praise & worship in their own dialect.
“My decision is to inspire and sparehead the movement of ministering, praying and doing songs in our local dialects. And I believe God loves and appreciates us that way”, she said.
Informing guests present and viewers online, Diana Hopeson stated that the project came to mind a year ago, after she was tasked by Hillsongs to translate songs to our local languages .
During the process she invited a friend Gabriel Agambila to assist her with a song in Hausa. He opened up on songs he had written in various dialects, she took the interest to record the songs to be able to reach out to the people from northern part of Ghana.
The “Up North” EP consists”Mandaana” (My Lord & Saviour), “Ubanghiji”, “Hallelujah” and “Spontaneous Prayer on COVID-19”. And other melodious songs in Hausa, Gurune (Frafra) for those in northern Ghana.
Present at the occasion was Dr. Hopeson, Helena Rhabbles, Joseph Akwasi and many notable music fanatics.

Von Sinu releases debut single ‘Thank You’
Von Sinu, an upcoming gospel musician, has released her debut single titled ‘Thank You’ which is gaining popularity on the airwaves and streaming platforms.
‘Thank you’ seeks to appreciate God for his goodness and faithfulness in her life.
In an interview with The Spectator in Accra, Von, who is also a fashion designer said “looking back at my life and what God has told me about myself, I was grateful.
She said she had to record it and later sent it to a friend who has been very instrumental in her being a gospel singer.
She said though there were other songs written and recorded, she thought it was prudent to release ‘Thank you’ as the Bible urges believers to give thanks in Psalm 92:1-2: “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name”
The song is available on all digital platforms including Youtube, Spotify, Apple music Deezer and Tidal.

Empress Gifty donates GH₵10,000 to Aburi Girls final year students
Ghanaian gospel music dynamo, Empress Gifty, has donated GH₵10,000 to the final year students of the Aburi Girls Senior High School.
She made the donation on Sunday when she performed at the Annual Thanksgiving ceremony held by the 1999 and other year groups.
It was to honour the memory of her late mother, Evangelist Agnes Aba Annan.
She also promised to stage a free worship concert for the final year students before they write their final examination.
“Before you write your final exams, call me, I will come with my band, and colleagues to play a free worship show for you,” she said.
Empress Gifty also prayed for them and wished the final-year students success in their impending examination.
The gospel heavyweight thrilled the gathering with some extraordinary display of soul-inspiring songs from her repertoire.
Her current song, ‘Watch Me,’ got the atmosphere charged with everyone in the auditorium making a bold prophetic declaration with the lyrics of the song during her performance
